James realized a childhood ambition when he first visited Easter Island over 12 years ago for his university studies in Spanish and Portuguese. He went on to write his dissertation on the unique linguistic situation of the island, where Spanish is spoken alongside the Polynesian language, Rapa Nui. He has lived there since 2000, leading tours and sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience with visitors. James is also currently writing a book about Easter Island.
