The First Class Explora Lodge is located on the outskirts of the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama. The hotel has 52 luxury rooms, all with seating area and Jacuzzi and beautifully furnished. The hotel also features a Games room, 4 swimming pools, sauna & massage and numerous outside seating areas. Explora in Atacama has designed a complete programme of excursions aimed at exploring the desert and its cultures. Every day there is a choice of 6-8 excursions varying in difficulty and duration. Accommodation is full board and all daily excursions and transfers are included.

You can visit Valle de la Luna - 'Moon Valley', a place of bizarre and beautiful rock formations from where you can watch the sun as it sets over the valley and changes the hues of the landscape. Also, the Salar de Atacama, journeying out onto the Salar at Laguna Chaxa to view the flamingos.
There is the Padre Paige Archaeogical museum in San Pedro, providing a fascinating insight into the regions past and the Pukara de Quitor reconstructed Inca fortress near San Pedro.


You may also visit many picturesque villages including Tocona, Caspana and Chiu Chiu and the highland lakes of Miscanti and Miñiques.
One morning you will be up early for the excursion to the Tatio Geysers, the highest in the world, situated at 4,500m above sea level. A beautiful sight best seen as the morning rays catch the forceful jets and steam that rise from the earth.

The Terrantai Lodge is a well-hidden retreat, from the street one would assume it is another adobe house, but upon entering you come across a small maze, with a few of the rooms having both a front door and patio door. There is a pleasant outdoor restaurant which captures the cool breeze and the staff are always on hand. Accommodation is full board and airport transfers and daily excursions are included.

A range of excursions are offered which allow you to discover the natural wonders and beauty of the surrounding area. These include visits to salt flats, the Moon Valley, petroglyphs, ruins, geysers, lagoons and many other attractions. Some excursions are on foot, others by jeep and there is also the opportunity to explore on horseback.

The Hotel Altiplanico is located in spacious grounds on the edge of San Pedro, just a short walk from the centre of the small town. The modern desert architecture and style, using local material and colours, enhances the local character and all the rooms have a terrace facing the Andes to the east and are decorated in a traditional Atacameño style. Every room has a private bathroom, hot water, and purified drinking water (no TV, telephone or mini-bar).

Hotel Kimal, a small labyrinth of finely executed structures of volcanic stone and earthen walls, is situated in an ancient orchard close to the main square.

Awasi has only 8 guestrooms, all with private outdoor patio, reading area, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Guests are free to relax in the privacy of the guestrooms or on one of the many cozy sofas and hammocks located in the large open air lobby. At night, guests can lounge around the communal fire pit or enjoy a cocktail in a dimly lit poolside cabana, all while admiring the unparalleled beauty of the Atacama sky.
Each room is assigned with a private guide and 4WD vehicle to embark on special outings to the numerous volcanoes, dry salt lakes, ponds, and other natural features that make the Atacama experience unforgettable. Awasi prepares customized excursions depending on guest preferences.
