Few South American countries boast of a
landscape and a climate so diverse than that of Chile. Although
averaging only 180km wide, it stretches some 4,000km from north to
south which, if transferred to Europe, would represent a distance
and range of climates from Norway's icy northern tip to the Sahara
Desert in Africa.
DESERT
Mummies and treasures of the Atacameño Culture lie hidden in the
vast stretch of arid desert that makes up northern Chile. An area
of supreme natural beauty which emcompasses salt lakes, the
stunning Tatio geysers and picturesque villages.
LAKE DISTRICT
Fertyle countryside punctuated by snow-capped volcanoes and
brillant esmerald lakes provide the visitor with a variety of
excursions and activities, walking, horse-riding, skiing or camping
under the stars in the Andes.
PATAGONIA
Southern Chile embraces the wild, romantic Patagonia, a land of
glaciers, immense granite massifs, and the barren, windswept tip of
South America whre the Andes sink in to the icy waters. Places
named by early navigators remain, leaving little to the
imagination... Desolate Bay, East and West Furies and Useless
Bay.
