Choroni & Henri Pittier National Park

Henri Pittier's Park is Venezuela's oldest National Park stretching from the Caribbean coast in the north, across the lush mountains and then south, almost to the agricultural city of Maracay. In a relatively small area (600 sq., miles \ 1000 sq. kil. ), there is a diverse animal world, including; monkeys, deer, tapirs, armadillos, ocelots, foxes, frogs, and an a incredible variety of birds. Nearly 600 species of birds have been identified in the park, which represents over 40% of the known bird species in Venezuela more variety then either Europe or all of the United States, or 7% of all the known birds species in the entire world.

Choroni is a beautiful colonial town on the coast of Venezuela, on the Caribean Sea, that offers many natural contrasts. Relax on a spectacular, white sand beach, splash in a mountain waterfall .

Posada La Bokaina has 10 rooms each one with private facilities and hot water. Outside each room have their hammocks where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. You can walk to Choroni town in 10minutes and there is a small private beach located only 15min walk. You can organise daily activities from diving to walking in the rainforest or visit some of the famous cacao plantations of the area.

Hacienda El Portete

A 300 year old cocoa plantation restored to its colonial-era atmosphere, with all the comforts of a small posada. There are 24 rooms, 3 suites all with air conditioning and private facilities, there is a swimming pool, a small restaurant serving local and international food.

Casa de las Garcias

This posada was built as a private estate between 1660 and 1700, and has belonged to the Garcia Bravo family since the end of the 1800s. It has been beautifully renovated to preserve the original colonial style. Colonial house, 11 rooms overlooking flower filled courtyard, in a tranquil setting .

La Casa de Las García is located in the Estate of "El Portete", between Choroní and Puerto Colombia towns, (2 km. from the public beach Playa Grande).
In the original part of the house there are 8 bedrooms all with private bathrooms, hot water and fans; there are 3 bedrooms in the new structure built in the garden behind the House, each with bath, hot water, hair dryer, inside courtyard and air conditioning.
Breakfast is served in the garden whilst dinner is served outside in the old patio of cacao.
