The Hotel Santa Teresa is located at the heart of the historic Santa Teresa District on a hill in the center of the city and also famous for the tram "bonde" that winds up way through the streets. The hotel is under government trust for historic preservation of the City of Rio de Janeiro and is surrounded by gardens with trees, patios and terraces.

It has 44 personalized rooms all with private facilities and more than half of the rooms have balconies with panoramic views over the Guanabara Bay, the Teresópolis Mountains and the Christ Redeemer.

The hotel has a sophisticated decoration introducing you to the history and origins of Brazil. The use of natural materials such as cotton and linen, coconut and banana fibers, tropical Woods, the Portuguese tiles and the burnt cement, characterize all the atmosphere of the Hotel. 

Furniture and special pieces from Brazilian artists and designers such as Sérgio Rodriguez, Zemog, Studio Vitty, Rock Lane, Carassa and Oficina de Agosto creates comfortable and inviting areas and show the strong Brazilian flavor of the interior design. 

There is also a restaurant, swimming pool ans spa. Please note that you need to take taxis to travel between the hotel and anywhere in city, although there are some very good restaurants, art galleries, boutique shops and museums in Santa Teresa.
