Day 1
Leaving on Sunday from your hotel in Mexico City, drive to the
delightful colonial city of Morelia for a guided tour and overnight
(B).
Day 2
Boat trip on to Pátzcuaro Lake to visit Janitzio Island, with its
cobbled streets, a beautiful spot offering lovely views. Then
return to the mainland for a stunning drive through the Michoacán
Mountain Range to Guadalajara for a 2 night stay (B).
Day 3
Full day tour of the city and the historical quarter where lovely
colonnades border graceful squares. Visit the village of
Tlaquepaque, with its excellent Mariachi music bands, folklore and
handicrafts specialising in glass, textiles and leather. (B)
Day 4
Journey through the countryside to Guanajuato, a beautiful city
with street cafes and nestled in a gorge, where some of the
narrowest of streets wind their way under the old houses (B).
Day 5
Leave via Dolores Hidalgo for San Miguel de Allende, a charming
town overlooking the River Laja, with mountains in the distance.
The winding cobblestone streets lead up to vantage points where one
can admire the plentiful number of churches with their
characteristic blue and yellow tiled cupolas. Stay 1 night here
(B).
Day 6
Continue to Querétaro, an old colonial city dotted with beautiful
squares and churches. Return to Mexico City.
