Paseo Tour. Ancient and Colonial Landscapes
The slow, provincial pace of life, Mayan and colonial heritage and beach hotels, make the Yucatan Peninsula, perfect for a fascinating holiday. Explore the austere and palatial pyramids of ancient Mayan civilisations, discover colonial cities, isolated Haciendas and small villages. On the coast, the turquoise clear ocean, white sandy beaches and water parks with rivers and magroves, make it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and unwinding.
13 night itinerary:

- Uxmal - 3 nights

Days 1-4
Depart on your flight to the colonial city of Mérida in the
Yucatan. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel. Three
full days for optional excursions to explore Mérida, visit the
Monastry at Izamal or the "human sacrifice cenote" of Dzip-nut or
you may also visit Celestum Nature reserve. (B)
Day 5-7
Transfer to Uxmal visiting Hacienda Temozon en route. Stay for 3
nights with two full days of optional excursions to visit the Mayan
archaeolocial site of Uxmal, where the walls have intricate
decorations and the nearby, partially excavated site of Kabah or
the colonial city of Campeche. (B)
Day 8
Transfer to Chichén Itzá, to visit the extensive archaeological
site with impressive, austear pyramids, the temple and observatory.
There is a "son et lumiere" show in the evening. Overnight at a
hotel nearby. (B)
Day 9-13
Explore Chichén Itzá further in the early morning light, rest by
the hotel pool in the midday heat and early in the afternoon,
transfer to the coast staying for 5 nights at Playa del Carmen, Las
Palapas (Tourist) or Mahekal (First) and Maroma (DeLuxe)(B)
Day 14
Transfer to Cancún airport for your flight home, (B) arriving home
the following Day 15.
