The Heritage Tour.
The wealth produced by planting Sisal is visible in the opulent country Haciendas of the Yucatan, now converted into small, De Luxe, character hotels. Enjoy the colonial decoration, architecture and furniture, gardens and swimming pool and visit the impressive Mayan Pyramids as well as the cities and small villages, before retiring to the Caribbean coast for a spot of sea breeze, sun and swimming at a beach resort.
13 night itinerary:
- (Uxmal) Hacienda Santa Rosa - 3 nights
- (Campeche) Hacienda Uayamon - 3 nights
- (Mérida/Chichén Itzá) Hacienda
- San Jose - 3 nights
- (Caribbean Coast) Beach Resort - 4 nights
Depart on your flight to Mérida in the Yucatán . On arrival, in the evening, you will be met and driven (one hour) to Hacienda Santa Rosa for 3 nights. Two days free to visit the elegant Mayan pyramids site of Uxmal with intricate decorations on the Puuc route as well as enjoy the tranquil environment of the Hacienda and the surrounding countryside. Days 4-6
Transfer to Hacienda Uayamon staying for 3 nights. Two days at leisure to visit the nearby colonial city of Campeche and the archaeological site of Edzna. (B)
Days 7-9
Transfer to Hacienda San Jose visiting Mérida on the way. Stay for 3 nights with two full days of optional excursions to explore the Yucatán, visit the colonial city of Izamal or the "human sacrifice cenote" of Dzip-nut and the grandiose, austere pyramids and extensive archaeological site at Chichén Itzá including the astronomical observatory. Days 10-13
Transfer to the Caribbean coast with turquoise clear water and beautiful sandy beaches, staying at a resort for 4 nights of bliss and possibly, a Spa, staying in First Class at Le Reve (page 143) or Fairmont Mayakoba (page 146) and in Deluxe at Maroma (page 145), (B)
Day 14
Transfer to Cancún airport for your flight home arriving Day 15.
