The Colca Canyon is more than twice as deep as the Gran Canyon in the USA and is the deepest canyon in the world.
night itinerary:
- Day 1
Early morning departure from Arequipa to Colca Canyon. A scenic route, stopping at a small Indian village, and at Chivay to bathe in the hot springs. Stay for 1 or 2 nights at the Colca Lodge. - Day 2
Visit local villages and the Cruz del Condor, a spectacular vantage point overlooking the deep canyon where condors are frequently seen gliding by. Return to Arequipa or continue sightseeing in the Colca Canyon, before returning the next day.
