On June 24 and a few days either side, the huge Inca 'Sun Festival' is held to celebrate the winter solstice. Local people, in brightly-coloured garb, perform dances & rituals, whilst visitors & locals alike view the celebration from the massive ruins of Sacsayhuamán. A festive atmosphere depicting a bygone era.
