Located 50 km from Salvador, this paradise is surrounded by 200,000 square metres of gardens and coconut groves. All the glorious cliches are here - 12 km of semi-deserted white sand beaches, shallow crystalline waters where natural pools form amongst the coral reefs - perfect for snorkelling and diving, delightful lawns stretching along the coast, where one can lie in the shade of the palms; and nearby, a charming, colourful fishing village, home to the Tamar Turtle Project.
The 300 rooms have been built just two stories high, of wood and bamboo, in keeping with the natural surroundings. All rooms are fully air-conditioned with TV, telephone and a veranda featuring a hammock, overlooking the ocean. A wide range of activities can be enjoyed, including sailing, fishing, windsurfing, diving and horse riding. The Thalasso Spa offers the perfect solution to rest and relaxation after.
One can also visit the Pojuca River, with its waterfalls, raft the rapids, or stroll through the lush surrounding forest, where birds and butterflies abound. There are eight swimming pools, four tennis courts, games rooms, beach volleyball court, boutique and a children's club, a bar and three restaurants with excellent international and Brazilian cuisine.

Praia do Forte EcoResort's proposal
is to give children the opportunity to revel on spacious grounds
in stimulating activities different from those usually experienced
in large cities.
Careta Careta Kids' club
Open
throughout the year, the kids' club grant their members much fun
and entertainment. Awareness of nature's local issues and environmental
education are stimulated by practical and reflective activities.
Exclusively designed for the 05 to
12 age-group, activities such as ecological tours, arts workshops,
integration with nature, games, theater and educational chats are
all the time supervised by monitors and/or biologists/tutors.
The Careta Careta Kids Club monitors
are responsible for the children during their group activities in
the Club venue; the biologists and tutors are in charge of the environmental
education program and visits to explore several local ecosystems.
Individual services by caring and well-trained sitters for the 05-to-12's
or for the under 5's can be contracted at the hotel reception desk.
During the high season children's lunch and dinner are served at
Careta Careta Kids' Club.

Food Kitchen
Mummy will find fruit, tea, milk and cereals to prepare
baby's food
at the Baby Food Kitchen open round-the-clock and free of charge.
A delicious baby soup is served there from 11 am to 02 p.m. and
from 06 to 08 p.m.
Toys Room
Exclusive space, with age-appropriate toys, for the entertainment
of children from 0 to 4.
Baby Sitter
Careta Careta Kids'
Club monitors and tutors supervise the 5 to 12 year-old-children
during their group activities at the Kids' Club. The services of
caring and well-trained sitters are offered for younger kids and
those needing individual care, and can be booked at the hotel reception
desk or/and at reservation time.
This service bears an additional
average cost of R$ 8,00 per 1 hour. Shorter periods or extra hours
are R$10,00 per hour. The baby sitter's meals are not included and
should be paid by the party contracting the service.

Although some units are available we cannot book them in
advance.
Cots (Cribs)
Available at the EcoResort and should be ordered when hotel
bookings are made.

walk leads you through the forest reserve to a castle, built in 1552,
which dominates a nearby hilltop. Visits can also be made to the nearby
turtle protection project, or spend a day at a cattle ranch for a

Enjoy yourself and relax in one of
the 4 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, 4 floodlit tennis courts,
soccer field, beach volleyball ground, games room, 2 whirlpool baths
and massage kiosk by the seashore, reading and TV rooms, amphitheater,
nautical sports center, a fully-equipped fitness center and Kids'
Club.
Guests can also count on an imaginative,
first-rate team of monitors to organize activities such as:
ecological hiking, water polo competitions,
games, hydro-axé (Bahian popular music and dance) and hydro-gymnastics,
stretching, capoeira (very popular outdoors fight to the sound of
a string-and-beat instrument), beach volleyball, soccer and many
others.
At sunset, enjoy a relaxing happy
hour with live music by the swimming pool.
At 10 p.m. the amphitheater activities
start. Pick and choose between watching a folk show, acting at a
drama activity organized by the monitors or dancing by the moonlight
to the sound of a local band. There is a different program every
night.
Use of tennis courts is free of charge
day or night. Tennis coaching is charged separately. |
Nautical Sports
The incredibly beautiful sea
at Praia do Forte can be enjoyed in a wide variety of nautical
sports; all the adequate equipment is accessible at the hotel,
some as courtesy and others at an additional cost, as well
as a qualified team of instructors. |

Fishing
At Praia do Forte EcoResort several
places can afford a relaxing and pleasant fishing
The narrow stream Timeantube for
most of its length follows the edge of the mangrove. Both natural
and artificial bait is used to catch snook, snapper, young "melro"
(Brazilian fish) and "carapeba" (Diapterus rhombeus).
Four wooden piers of approximately 4m² were built along the
river and are an ideal setting for a peaceful fishing at sunset.
At low tide, on the rocks where the
Timeantube flows into the sea, snook, cat-fish, swordfish and Brazilian
fish "xaréu" can be caught with natural or artificial
bait. At the Pojuca, a larger river located some 2.700m far from
the EcoResort, one can catch snook, cat-fish, swordfish, snapper,
young "melro" and "carapeba" (Brazilian fish)
with natural or artificial bait on an aluminum 15 hp motor boat.
At low tide, also from the rocks
where the Pojuca flows into the sea, one can also catch snook, cat-fish,
swordfish and Brazilian fish "xaréu", using natural
or artificial bait.
Praia do Forte EcoResort owns a 22-feet
long launch with a 175hp engine for high sea fishing with artificial
bait to catch mackerel, tuna and Brazilian fish "dourado".
The launch leaves from the Nautical Sports Center for a 4-hour fishing
tour.
The sea-fishing season goes from
November to March. |

Snorkeling and Scuba
Diving
Along its 12-kilometer coastline,
Praia do Forte offers many privileged sites for both snorkeling
and scuba diving.
Papa Gente, one of the many
natural pools formed at low tide, is ideal for snorkeling
and watching the local flora and fauna. The Nautical Sports
Center supplies masks, fins and snorkels at no additional
cost. |

On the other hand, Scuba diving
excursions, which must always include the presence of an instructor,
courses and equipment available at the Hotel, bear an additional
cost and must be booked in advance. The minimum age for enrolling
the scuba diving coaching is 7. Nearby the resort some 35-meter-deep
diving sites can be tapped.
The scuba diving and snorkeling season
goes from October to February at 26°C water temperature average.
Fitness Center
One of our guests' favorite is the
Fitness Center, where weights have been replaced by a system of
compressed air, controls adjust intensity and frequency of workouts
to prevent lesions to joints, and can therefore be used by adults
of any age.
Besides Spinning and Hydro-gym, the
Center offers computerized assessments to determine physical age
as compared to chronological age. Also desirable weight, muscle
mass and fat as compared to actual, current figures. These results
not only enable the Fitness Instructors to indicate individually
the most adequate exercises but to make sure they are correctly
done.
The Fitness Center opens daily from
8 am-to 8 p.m with no breaks.
Use of equipment is free. Physical Assessment, however, bears additional
cost.
Ecological Tourism
Praia do Forte is Brazil's first
community strongly committed to ecological tourism, which to Praia
do Forte EcoResort is instrumental in environmental conservation.
Many cultural activities aimed at combining those purposes are offered
