Day 1
The Hiram Bingham Orient Express train leaves from Poroy station
at 09.00 . Brunch, wine and refreshments are served on board whilst
you enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Urubamba Valley unfolding
before you through the large windows, on the most luxurious train
journey in Peru. Following arrival at Machu Picchu at 12.30 , you
check-in to your room at the hotel and have a private guided tour
of the archaeological site, at a time when some visitors are
already having lunch or starting to leave for their journey back to
Cusco. Afternoon tea and cakes are served at the hotel. Overnight
at the Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel in close proximity to the
ruins, and offering twenty-nine wellappointed rooms and two suites.
An Orient Express owned hotel, the service is impeccable and the

Day 2
Full day to explore Machu Picchu. Board the train at 18.00 for the
return journey to Cusco, while you are served a gourmet three
course dinner along with wine and pisco sour cocktails, and
Peruvian musicians perform traditional songs in the bar area.
