There are no roads to the eight ocean-view casitas of Majahuitas, a beachside Mexican getaway just outside Puerto Vallarta. The 20-minute ride in the small boat sent for you, along a rugged and beautiful stretch of coastline with countless coves and rocky headlands, is a treat in itself.

Landing on the white sands of a small bay with crystalline waters, a peaceful stranded-on-a-beach feeling will envelope you. From here on, everything is provided by your hosts and nature.

The rusticity of the open-air casitas, some perched on the hill, others right where the waves break, doesn´t mean comfort or service are spared. At Majahuitas it is barefoot-with-linen, and if you consider plugging in your laptop or making a phone call a necessity, this is not the place for you. There are no phones on the property and guest rooms do not have electrical outlets. Torches, candles and lanterns light the way when the sun goes down. Accommodation includes room and all meals.
