Former US agency research vessel, now an intimate Antarctica cruising experience
Originally built for US agency as a true research vessel, the Ushuaia is an historic boat which was fully refurbished to accommodate just 90 passengers, for an intimate and intrepid Antarctic experience. Cabins are comfortable, rather than luxurious, with the emphasis placed squarely on what happens outside of these. A highly experienced Russian crew is joined by knowledgeable guides who excel in leading inspirational and informative shore landing and zodiac boat outings.
The Ushuaia benefits from having an ice-strengthened hull and its open bridge policy, well-stocked library and informative lectures and presentation encourages your curiosity. See below for a wide variety of itineraries, including one to explore the Weddel Sea, another South Georgia and one which endeavours to cross the Polar Circle.
