It is a relatively easy undertaking to reach the viewpoint at Salto Grande, beginning with a scenic 45 minute drive to Pudeto, surrounded by lakes. It is then a short walk to the raging waterfall of Salto Grande, the most impressive and photographed in Torres del Paine. This is a natural union between the Nordenskjöld and Pehoé lakes and an area rich in vegetation.
You may wish to continue the trail through an area that was devastated by the 2011/12 great forest fire. Among the fire-ravaged trees we find new life growing from the rich soil. From here we continue to a panoramic viewpoint of the spectacular Los Cuernos (The Horns) mountains and the French Valley and glacier, rising out of Lago Nordenskjöld.
