Havana - 4 Nights

Day 1

Fly to Havana

Departure on a daytime flight direct to Havana. On arrival, you will be met and taken to your chosen hotel for a 5 night stay. You guide will be on hand to advise you on any questions you may have and discuss your programme ahead.


Day 2

Old Havana Tour

Enjoy an included guided tour of Old Havana, a UNESCO World heritage site, with beautifully renovated squares and magnificent architecture of baroque colonial style, contrasting with 1950's cars, derelict buildings and cyclists. Visit the Museum of the Revolution, Memorial to Jose Marti, the Plaza de Armas and the Malecon on the seafront.

At leisure in Havana

Explore and discover the wealth of history, politics, local life, music and dance that makes Havana such an irresistible city. You guide can arrange a wide choice of optional tours and excursions, depending on your interests. And in the evening, why not visit the famous Casa de la Musica for a great night of salsa music?

This large boutique colonial house is a wonderful option for those preferring to stay in Havana's Vedado neighbourhood. It is tucked away down a quiet residential street, close to the Hotel Nacional, the Colon Cemetery and the Malecon waterfront. This area is known for its interesting shops, restaurants and night life, where many locals prefer to spend their evenings. Particular highlights are the Fabrica de Arte Cubano, perfect for cultural shows and live music, and the Patio de la Rumba African drumming on Saturday afternoons.

Three spacious bedrooms all have private ensuite facilities, air-conditioning and hairdyers, with one opening out onto a large living room and balcony overlooking the street. Day 5 - Full day Tour to Viñales

Full day tour to Viñales

Heading out of Havana today to the beautiful countryside in the Vinales Valley. On the way, we stop at the ecological reserve of La Moka and take a short walk exploring the area with rivers, waterfalls and rolling hills.  Continue to Viñales, where we take a walking tour of this picturesque provincial town. In the afternoon, we visit more of the surrounding countryside, including the underground river at El Indio caves and a tobacco plantation and workshop at Pinar del Rio. Return to Havana for the night.

Bay of Pigs Museum and Cienfuegos tour

Morning departure for Cienfuegos, stopping on the way to visit the historic Bay of Pigs Museum, the site of the failed invasion in 1961. We continue to Cienfuegos, where we will spend the night, after taking a tour of this charming colonial city. Stroll along the wide boulevards and visit the monument to famous Cuban singer, Benny More. 

Zunilda & Raya

Cienfuegos - Tourist Homestead

Zunilda & Raya enjoys an excellent location  towards the end of the Punta Gorda Peninsula. It faces the bay on both sides, affording wonderful views across the water which are particularly spectacular at sunset or sunrise. The homestay is close to Palacio de la Valle and its rooftop bar and the popular Villa Legarto restaurant.

Rooms are spacious and well equipped, with private ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and a fridge. Breakfast is served looking out to the bay from the terrace, with exotic fruits and juices adding a local flavour. The hosts are welcoming and helpful, offering advice and suggestions where necessary.

Angel & Isabel

Cienfuegos - Tourist Homestead

Located towards the end of the Punta Gorda Peninsula, Angel y Isabel is ideally situated for restaurants, spectacular sunset and sunrise views and soaking up the lively atmosphere. The three bedroom homestay is one of the best in the city, with spacious rooms, excellent facilities and extremely welcoming hosts. Guests can relax on the large roof terraces, enjoying 360 degree views across both sides of the water, particularly glorious at sunset or sunrise. All rooms have with private bath, hot water, hairdryer, air conditioner and refrigerator and breakfast is included.

We take a scenic drive to Trinidad, via the Escambray mountains. We stay at a central guest house in Trinidad for 3 nights.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of Cuba's best preserved colonial town. This colourful, historic town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the cobbled streets with their colonial mansions, churches, 19th century cathedral and squares. Many of the buildings are painted in delightful bright yellow, blue and pink.

 


Day 9

At leisure in Trinidad

One day to enjoy the local life at your own pace. Life moves slowly in Trinidad; horses still draw carts along the main street. There are interesting excursions up the hills on horseback or have fresh lobster on the nearby beach. At night soak up the atmosphere on the cafe terraces with live music and salsa dancing.

Hostal Colina

Located in the heart of Trinidad's UNESCO World Heritage centre, Hostal Colina is just moments from the city's biggest square, popular restaurants and the best live music venues. Three spacious rooms are clustered around a large central courtyard brought to life with exotic trees and lush plants and inhabited by colourful lizards. All rooms have ensuite bathroom facilities, efficient air conditioning and a refrigerator.

Within the courtyard there is a welcoming bar and seating area to relax with a drink, as well as areas to receive WIFI (scratchcard required). A fresh fruit and egg breakfast is served each day, as well as an excellent dinner prepared for you on the first night.

Last day to explore Havana, before transferring to the airport for your return flight home. Alternatively, stay on longer at the beach or visit Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa.
