Fly to Labuan Bajo & embark
Transfer to the airport and fly to Labuan Bajo. On arrival, you will be met at the airport in Komodo by your tour leaders and be taken straight to your boat. And as you settle into your new home, we will head to our first snorkelling spot; a coral restoration project where you will see how the corals and fish populations have grown since they were first transplanted in 2014.
Wednesday, 18 December 2024
Komodo Islands National Park
Go ashore on Komodo Island in search of the fearsome Komodo dragons, found only in the Komodo National Park. This is the world’s largest lizard, growing up to a length of three metres and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms. We also enjoy some magnificent snorkelling on some of the Komodo Park’s best reefs, and swim with manta rays as they feed on the current and circle the so-called cleaning stations, where small fish remove parasites from their skin.
There is also an opportunity to snorkel at a favourite hangout of sea turtles, where we will have a chance to swim with these gentle reptiles as they cruise along the shallow water of the reef.
Thursday, 19 December 2024
Uninhabited Islands
Wake up off the coast of a beautiful uninhabited island with a beach of pure white sand with some sparkles of powdered red coral, creating the effect of a “pink beach”. We will spend the morning here, swimming, paddle boarding, and snorkelling on the beautiful coral reef that lies parallel to the beach.
Over lunch, we will cruise to a nearby active volcanic island where we will see a large wooden pinisi boat with the same pedigree and history of SeaTrek’s very own ships being built on the beach. Walking around this small village, get a feel for their simple way of life, chat with the locals and maybe buy some handmade textiles as a souvenir.
Friday, 20 December 2024
Exploring uninhabited Islands
Spend the day at a strange and mystical volcanic island with a sunken crater lake in its centre that was filled with saltwater when the nearby Mt Tambora catastrophically erupted in 1815. Here we will swim, kayak and paddleboard on the lake, and the more adventurous can go trekking around the crater rim.
Experience a beach BBQ under a night sky filled with millions of stars as you feast on the amazing local delicacies prepared by our chef, and all accompanied by live musical entertainment from our talented crew.
Another highlight of our visit to the island will be the sight of thousands of flying foxes that fly at dusk from the island to feed on the mainland.
Saturday, 21 December 2024
Shark fishing
We will have chance for an early morning swim with whale sharks, the gentle giants of the sea. These massive but harmless animals have long congregated here in the bay but now, thanks to travellers like you, we have formed a mutually beneficial alliance with the local fisherman who have their traditional small floating fishing platforms in the bay that attract the sharks. We can’t make any promises, as we don’t have these wild animals on a leash, but fingers crossed we will see them.
Spend the day on a beach located on a small limestone island nearby, kayaking, swimming and snorkelling, and exploring the local karst formations.
Sunday, 22 December 2024
Moyo Island
We will cruise to Labuan Aji village on the island of Moyo to visit the village and walk to a scenic waterfall where we can bathe in the refreshing cool water.
Monday, 23 December 2024
Komodo National Park
Enjoy a unique snorkelling experience where volcanic gasses escape in the form of bubbles from the sea floor among the corals, with the metallic black volcanic sand below being home to an abundance of very interesting invertebrates.
Entering the Komodo National Park again we will go drift snorkelling in one of the best and healthiest coral reefs in the park, and for those who want to take the land-adventure to another level, you can do a sunset hike up to a gorgeous viewpoint overlooking the other islands in the park.
Tuesday, 24 December 2024
Rinca Island
Today we visit Rinca Island, which is well known for its diverse wildlife, and maybe spot dragons, monkeys, wild buffaloes and deer as well. From the top of the hills, the scenery is breath taking.
Katharina
Cruises in Indonesia - First Motor Yacht
Led by Captain Ferdi and operated by a crew of 12, the 38-metre Katharina sits low in the water, making her a beautiful looking boat. Built in 1995 in Kalimantan, her slim hull was originally planned for use as a commercial freighter. After her 2014 interior refit, her transformation is a conservation exercise back to authenticity of a mighty seafaring tradition. Not only is the Katharina very elegant on the water, she is also fast becoming a classic yacht, as very few of these original designs remain. Accommodating just 12 guests in six cabins, with a salon & bar, two sun decks, and an outdoor dining area, she offers a more intimate experience.
Ombak Putik
Cruises in Indonesia - First Motor Yacht
Led by Captain Jufri, with a crew of 14, Ombak Putih means ‘White Wave’ in the Indonesian language. Her keel was first laid down in Kalimantan in 1995, and she became operational in 1997. At 42 metres long, she provides accommodation for up to 24 guests in 12 comfortable cabins. Approximately 400 square metres of public space is divided over her two main decks, including a large salon, as well as covered and open areas, allowing plenty of room for our guests to spread out, relax, and enjoy as much company or solitude as they wish.

Explore Bali and transfer to Ubud
After breakfast, take a scenic drive towards Melo Village, where you will witness the traditional Caci dance performance. Local strongmen perform a ritual whip-fight between two rivals in which the players, each armed with a rattan shield and a whip, will try to hit each other while dancing to the rhythm of traditional acoustic instruments.
Disembark after lunch and fly to Bali. Here, transfer to Ubud and your chosen hotel for a 3-night stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
Thursday, 26 December 2024
Scenic Mount Batur
Today we set off after breakfast on a full Lake Batur day tour exploring Bali’s scenic interior. Take a picturesque drive along small winding roads, climbing into the hills to enjoy fantastic panoramas over the beautiful rice fields and landscapes.
Stop at the town of Tampaksiring for a visit to Gunung Kawi. Set amid lush rice terraces, these 11th century temples feature 10 rock-cut candi (shrines) carved into the cliff face. Continue along the scenic roads of the countryside to visit Tirta Empul, a sacred water temple.
Arrive in Kintamani, a volcanic region home to majestic Mount Batur. Inside the caldera of the once giant Batur Volcano is a calm, clear lake in which a new, active volcanic cone was formed. Grab a table at a restaurant nearby, enjoying lunch overlooking Lake Batur.
Continue to Penglipuran, a traditional countryside village. Take a stroll through the typical Balinese entrance gates and admire the unique architectural styles found throughout the village. The last stop is sacred Kehen Temple. Explore the site’s eight terraces, its massive Banyan tree and detailed religious inscriptions. Gain insight into the Hindu faith and its role in the lives of the deeply spiritual Balinese people.
