Travel to Merida

This morning explore Valladolid. Built by the Spanish conquerors in 1543, Valladolid became the colonial capital of the eastern Yucatan. The city's wealthy inhabitants were nearly wiped out during the mid 19th century War of the Castes. Today the city is every bit the colonial capital it once was and the most interesting of the many churches in the town are the Cathedral, on the main square, and the church of San Bernardino de Siena next to the fortified Convento de Sisal, constructed in 1552. 

In the afternoon, transfer to Merida and check into the Casa Del Balam Hotel for a 3-night stay on a bed and breakfast basis. Enjoy an evening stroll in the magnificent old centre of Merida.

Today enjoy a full day guided excursion visiting the beautiful cenotes of Cuzamá, agave plantations where you understand natural Sisal fibre production, and an old abandoned hacienda Chunakanán.

Oxcutzcab Market, Kabah & Uxmal

Today explore the Franciscan Convent route, with many towns affected during the times of christianisation of Yucatán peninsula. We visit a convent en route to Oxcutzcab, where we visit the lively market. Continue to Kabah archaeological site, from the Puuc period, reflected in the façades of the prehispanic temples.

Finally, we visit Uxmal where we have some free time to have lunch (not included) and visit Uxmal archaeological site with the remaining temple ruins of a Maya city kingdom.

Xel-Ha is a natural aquarium, where we enjoy a full day with many water based activities, like inner tube floating, snorkelling or observing the colourful and impressive underwater flora & fauna, corals, and many types of fish. All meals and drinks are included today.

Illusion Boutique Hotel is a small hotel in the centre of Playa del Carmen, between the main street "Quinta Avenida" and the beach, which is located only a 2 minute walk walk down the road. It is ideal for everyone who likes to be within walking distance of all the attractions, shops, restaurants, bars and the beach. Although, please note this also means a certain amount of activity and street noise.

The hotel is for adults over 18. The resort also has two bars, cafe and a beautiful spa.

Playa del Carmen is located only 10 minutes away. The town is a great place to spend an evenings with a good choice of shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

There are many facilities to keep children of all ages stimulated, with children aged 5-11 being able to take advantage of the Discovery Club and Adventure Camp. Children aged 0-5 eat for free when dining with their parents.

Travel to Mountain Pine Ridge via Belize City

Transport to Cancun and fly to Belize City. On arrival, our guide will take you to Mountain Pine Ridge where you check into the Hidden Valley Inn for a 3-night stay on a bed and breakfast basis. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the facilities of your hotel

Covered an area of 430 km2, the Mountain Pine Reserve is a ridge which forms the border separating the famous Cayo District from the Creek District and the Toledo District. The majority of the reserve is situated on a granite massif, with some areas of limestone in the west. Close to San Ignacio City, this broad upland area of multiple ridges and valleys was used as a ritual site for the Mayan Culture. The region also has much wildlife, including acorn woodpeckers, the rufous-capped warbler, the crossbill, and Eastern Bluebird. The reserve is full of rivers, pools, waterfalls and caves to explore.
