Lima - 2 Nights

Day 1

Fly to Lima

Depart from the UK on a direct BA flight, arriving in Lima in the evening. You will be met at the airport by our representative who will take you to your hotel, staying for 2 nights. On arrival you will have an introduction to the local area which is an opportunity for our guide to provide advice, explain your programme and answer any questions you may have.

Day 2

Guided tour of Lima 

Morning at leisure. Afternoon we take a guided tour of Lima including the historic centre. We visit the Presidential Palace, Plaza San Martín and Larco Herrera Museum which houses a fabulous collection of ancient artefacts from all over Peru. 


Lima - Tourist Hotel

This small contemporary hotel is located in the heart of Miraflores, with plenty of access to local conveniences such as restaurants and shops. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and modern although simple in character, and all with modern amenities such as WiFi, air conditioning and private facilities. The hotel has a bar and restaurant serving international dishes.

Accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis.

Country Club

Lima - Deluxe Hotel

Located just 7 miles from the international airport in the exclusive residential area of San Isidro with a pleasant view overlooking Lima Golf Club. 

Opened in 1927 and declared a Peruvian Cultural Monument, the historic Country Club offers luxurious and lavish accommodation in single or double air conditioned rooms equipped with cable TV, minibar and internet access. Each room is adorned with traditional Andean textiles. Dine in the award-winning hotel restaurant or enjoy a cold drink at the bar. Day 3

Amazon Rainforest 

Early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado. From here, it's a 45 minute motorboat transfer to our base in mighty Amazon, the Reserva Amazonica Jungle Lodge - one of the world's top eco-lodges where we stay on a full board basis including all excursions for 3 nights. An eco-friendly luxury lodge on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, Reserva Amazonica has 30 luxury wooden cabanas inspired in the Ese’Eja culture. The area is a wildlife paradise, with 540 bird species identified within the hotel grounds, deep in the rainforest.

During your stay excursions are organised by your naturalist guide, both along the river tributaries and the paths in the forest spotting wildlife in the dense tree canopy. Night excursions are also a possibility.

Day 4

Reserva Amazonica Jungle Lodge

Today we visit the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a bridge system at 30 meters above the ground, allowing adventurers to enjoy a privileged view of the Amazon. Plus enjoy walks in the forest, boat trips on the river and the fine facilities of your luxury lodge.

The wildlife in the area is remarkable, from giant and colourful macaws, to toucans, parrots, tapirs, tamarind monkeys, owls, Southern Amazon Red squirrels, as well as a large variety of monkeys. Reserva Amazonica also holds the world record for ant species in a single place (362 species).

The lodge offers spacious facilities and well-equipped private cabins, guaranteeing guests an authentic, safe and comfortable stay in the rainforest, combining cozy accommodations with warm hospitality, a dedication to conservation and the opportunity to discover magnificent naturally camouflaged wildlife in the jungle.

The lodge boasts 30 private cabanas and 3 suites built with local materials in native style. Service areas are located in a two story wooden pavilion with a cathedral ceiling housing the dining room, bar, the main lounge and a mezzanine over looking the rainforest, where visitors can relax while contemplating the unique scenery. 

Each day and evening there are excursions on offer, both along the river tributaries and along the paths in the forest. Night excursions are also a possibility. As well as viewing the native wildlife, guests also learn about the medicinal properties of the plants endemic to the area and learn more about life in the Amazon. There are also evening presentations.

Included Entrance Fee to the Tambopata Research Center. All meals are included (drinks are extra), as are explorations part of your itinerary (and additional ones are payable locally). Please note that guests can take a maximum of 10kg to the lodge, the rest can be left in the lodge's office in Puerto Maldonado.

Day 6

The Sol Y Luna Hotel, Sacred Valley

Today we return to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Cusco. On arrival transfer by road through the stunning Urubamba Valley also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We stay at the deluxe Sol Y Luna Hotel for 3 nights surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Your room is a cosy  ‘casita’ house made of local stone and decorated individually. The gardens are filled with flora native to the Sacred Valley, plus the hotel has an excellent restaurant, spa and swimming pool. 

Day 7

Discover the Sacred Valley

Today enjoy a full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we visit the Inca village of Ollantaytambo, Maras & Moray and Pisac market and ruins.

Day 9

Machu Picchu by train

Journey on the Vistadome train from Ollantaytambo following the Urubamba River, through beautiful countryside and culminating in the awesome Machu Picchu. You will have a guided tour of the site, afterwards you are free to explore the citadel further. We stay overnight at the nearby Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel including lunch and dinner, an intimate Andean village style property with terraced hills, waterfalls, stone pathways and 83 stunning whitewashed adobe 'casitas' tucked away in the cloud forest. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, cafe  and spa.

Day 10

Explore Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

The morning is free to explore. You may wish to climb Huayna Picchu, a steep climb but well worth it for the fantastic views of the valley and a different perspective of Machu Picchu. Alternatively, there is a gentle climb, back along the Inca Trail, to Intipunku the Gate of the Sun, and the first sight one has of the complex if walking the Inca Trail.

In the afternoon take the train to Cusco. Spend the next 2 nights at La Casona, a beautifully 16th century manor house that has been harmoniously restored reflecting cultures and traditions across centuries. Surrounding the main patio, its 11 suites are provided with chimneys, heated floors and extra-large bathtubs. Its halls are decorated with colonial furniture, pre-columbian textiles and original murals. The hotel has a superb restaurant and a spa. 

Day 11

Guided tour of Cusco and nearby ruins

Today enjoy a guided tour of Cusco and its main attractions. From the city centre we travel into the mountains above Cusco to visit the main ruins in the surrounding area, including the vast site of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 12

Train Journey to Lake Titicaca

Today we journey on Peru Rail's famous Titicaca train on an unforgettable journey to Puno on Lake Titicaca. We travel across the Andean altiplano, past striking mountain scenery, small villages, remote farms and tiny stations. At Puno, we transfer to the all-inclusive Titilaka Lodge for a 3 night stay. This 18 room luxury refuge lies on the shores of the Lake Titicaca on a secluded private peninsula and includes an excellent dining room, bar, massage room, 3 lounges and a small library. 


Day 13

Exploring Lake Titicaca

Enjoy a full day excursion on the lake, visit local communities, admire the landscape and rest.
