Lamma Island has a Caribbean feel and offers easy trails through lush vegetation to small beaches.

Lamma Island is easily reached by a 45 minute boat ride from Aberdeen Fishing Village, at the far south of Hong Kong Island or by boats from Central. A series of easy hikes lead you through exuberant vegetation, passing a Kamikaze World War II cave and banana trees and often in the company of large butterflies. The island has a number of beaches, of which Lo So Shing is the best and a 150 temple used by fishermen to pray for their safety and good fortune. There is also a large fishing community which can be seen at close quarters as you arrive on the boat and a number of shops selling local handicrafts.
