The Belize Rainforest Retreat is located within Chaa Creek Lodges’s 500-acre nature reserve in Belize's Cayo District and ideal for those who want to enjoy a true wilderness experience in the heart of the jungle.
The retreat has ten Eco Pods – cabins raised on stilts above the jungle floor, fully screened with private hammock-hung porches, and furnished with comfortable beds, fresh linens and towels. The showers and bathroom facilities are shared.
Meals are simple, nourishing, and reflective of Belizean culture, served in an open-air pavilion centrally located within the retreat, overlooking the surrounding rainforest and Eco-Pods. It’s a natural extension of the experience, where connection to nature, people, and place unfolds effortlessly.
Staying at the Belize Rainforest Retreat includes an array of activities to make your stay enjoyable including: a guided natural history centre and butterfly farm experience; self-guided canoeing on the Macal River; self-guided hiking through the 500-acre nature reserve; guided early morning birdwatching (there are over 350 species of resident and migratory birds); and a guided medicinal plant trail. Optional activities include cooking classes, guided night hikes, horse riding tours, guided sunset canoeing and a 4 x 4 safari in the jungle.
The rates include breakfast, dinner and the included activities.
