Depart the UK on a daytime flight to St Maarten Island, on KLM via Amsterdam. On arrival, you will be met by our guide and transferred to Belmond La Samanna Resort, on the French side of the island, Saint Martin, to stay for a 5 nights including accommodation and breakfast. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Relax at La Samanna.
Perhaps take an optional pre-dawn boat ride to Tintamarre. This uninhabited island is a former mid-century aviation strip in the Saint Martin Nature Reserve. Here you can snorkel with rare hawksbill turtles and sting-rays in unparalleled beauty. A local marine conservationist from the Saint Martin Nature Reserve is on hand to explain the rich marine fauna. There’s even a chance to spot majestic humpback whales in mating season. Share an energising breakfast on the beach and return home refreshed and invigorated by this distinctly Caribbean experience.
The rest of the day is free to enjoy the many facilities of the resort, from tennis to yoga.

Hiking with the Arawaks
A day to relax at the resort or on the beach.
But if your are up for an adventure, take an optional guided trek under the green jungle canopy to experience St Martin’s tallest peak. Soak up the sweeping island views with a local nature guide. Later, enjoy an apéritif in the company of St. Martin’s resident archaeologist, Christophe Henocq, as he retraces the history of the island’s original settlers: the Arawaks.
