Depart any day of the week for Santiago, arriving the next morning. 


Day 2

Tour of Santiago

Arriving in the morning, you will be met at the airport and taken to your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay.

In the afternoon we explore the city, set in a wide plain with the Andes stretching into the distance. Santiago offers bohemian areas, large craft markets, grand central squares and the Cerro San Cristóbal, a hill which can be reached by funicular railway, for superb panoramic views of the city.

 


Day 3

Santiago at leisure

Two days to further explore the city at your leisure. Perhaps take an optional excursion to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar on the coast, or the vineyards of Santa Cruz and the surrounding valleys. Your guide will advise on all the options to suit your requirements.

Su Merced is renovated townhouse, small boutique hotel with only 9 rooms. Its location in the Lastarria area opposite the park in the heart of Santiago making it ideal for visiting the artistic, bohemian area of Bellavista, the main square Plaza de Armas, Presidential Palace and downtown. The rooms are comfortable and modern though rather small, and and the hotel has a restaurant and bar on which doubles as the reception.

This handsome townhouse, built in 1927, has been renovated and converted into a luxury boutique hotel, with all its original architectural splendour. Filled with European style and sophistication, the 14 rooms were designed to make guests feel at home. The hotel retains the back garden of the original house, complete with a small pool. The hotel has a simple snack bar, but there are many bars and restaurants nearby.

Puerto Varas, Lake District

Fly to Puerto Montt, capital of the Lake District and transfer to Puerto Varas where we stay for 2 nights. The afternoon is free to explore the city at leisure.

Welcome to the land of scenic lakes and volcanoes; a landscape of glacial lakes, rural villages and impressive national parks. If you love the outdoors, there are many different treks and walks, horseback riding and other adventure activities available from your hotel.

 


Day 6

Lago Todos Los Santos, Lake District

Enjoy a full day guided excursion to the emerald green waters of Lago Todos Los Santos, visiting the Petrohué Falls that flow over the sculpted basalt rock. Continue to the striking Osorno Volcano, with views of the surrounding wooded hills and glistening lakes. 

Torres del Paine - 4 Nights

Day 7 - Travel to Torres del Paine

Our journey continues southbound, as we take a flight to Punta Arenas and transfer to Torres del Paine National Park where we stay for 3 nights at a comfortable lodge within the National Park for ease of access and the best walks and scenery.


Day 8

Torres del Paine National Park

Our days are spent walking in this awe-inspiring area, where dramatic granite massifs rise from the earth, surrounded by glaciers, lakes and gnarled Magellanic beech trees. The walks vary from six hour treks, to 1.5hr strolls. Whichever you choose, the scenery will be unforgettable and the walking truly invigorating. Nature at its finest!

Transfer to Punta Arenas for your afternoon flight to Santiago. We spend the night in a hotel in Santiago near the airport.

Visits to Lago Grey on the other side of the park are possible with private transport and excursions arranged at the hosteria.

The Patagonia Camp is located on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park on the shores of "Lago el Toro" and is 100% eco-friendly. This place has been created to fulfill your expectations, combining nature, adventure, relaxation, comfort and luxury. The Camp has 20 luxury yurts specially designed to resist the Patagonian wind, rain and snow, all of which have a view of Lake Toro and the Paine Massif. Each yurt has a private bathroom and a private terrace and is equipped with double beds (twin or king size), closet, desk, and full-bodied timber flooring and heating systems. The Patagonian decor gives the yurts a unique atmosphere. You can relax in the lounge, enjoy your dinner with the meals prepared by the chef. There is one building that serves as a restaurant, bar and lounge. All are connected by elevated walkways. The camp also has a massage room only steps away form the main building. Day 11

San Pedro de Atacama

We take an early morning flight to Calama and transfer through the driest desert in the world to San Pedro de Atacama where we transfer to your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay. Afternoon at leisure. We take a stroll in the village and witness the sunset at Pucará de Quitor, the ruins of a 700-year-old Indian fortress, with the Andes mountains stretching north and south as far as the eye can see.  

The high altitude and dry climate has made the Atacama Desert one of the world's top regions for astronomy. Experiencing Atacama at night is as memorable as exploring the desert landscape by day. Your guide can advise on the best ways to observe the stars and planets after dark.

Day 12

Moon Valley

Today we visit the Archeological Museum, founded by a local priest, which houses fascinating examples of Indian artefacts - including mummies which have been perfectly preserved in the dry desert air. In the afternoon we visit the eerie Valley of the Moon for sunset, when the colours and forms of the naturally sculpted salt mountains are at their most beautiful hauntingly.


Day 13

El Tatio Geysers

A very early morning departure for Tatio Geysers. This extraordinary sight is best seen as the first rays of the sun catch the forceful jets and steam that rise from the earth. We stop on the way back to visit a delightful oasis, village of Chiu Chiu.

 


Day 14

Salar de Atacama and fly to Santiago 

This morning enjoy an excursion through the timeless space of the desert, to the village of Toconao, set on the edge of the Salar de Atacama, an immense dry salt lake that stretches into the distance towards a row of snow-capped volcanoes. We then return to Santiago in the afternoon for our last night in Chile.

Terrantai Lodge

Atacama Desert - First Hotel

The Terrantai Lodge is a well-hidden retreat, from the street one would assume it is another adobe house, but upon entering you come across a small maze, with a few of the rooms having both a front door and patio door. There is a pleasant outdoor restaurant which captures the cool breeze and the staff are always on hand. Accommodation is full board and airport transfers and daily excursions are included.

A range of excursions are offered which allow you to discover the natural wonders and beauty of the surrounding area. These include visits to salt flats, the Moon Valley, petroglyphs, ruins, geysers, lagoons and many other attractions. Some excursions are on foot, others by jeep and there is also the opportunity to explore on horseback.

The Hotel Altiplanico is located in spacious grounds on the edge of San Pedro, just a short walk from the centre of the small town. The modern desert architecture and style, using local material and colours, enhances the local character and all the rooms have a terrace facing the Andes to the east and are decorated in a traditional Atacameño style. Every room has a private bathroom, hot water, and purified drinking water (no TV, telephone or mini-bar).

Covering an area of 17 hectares outside the town of San Pedro, the Explora lodge is a complex of gardens and walkways with modern architecture, comfortable accommodation and many facilities.
