Built in the traditional quadrangle format, the Beijing Double Happiness Courtyard hotel is nestled in the ancient Hutong district and throughout displays classical decor inspired by the Qing dynasty (1644-1912). Some 250 years ago it was the home of a noted scholar and today hotel has been thoughtfully decorated with Chinese art work, crafts and furniture to evoke the atmosphere and elegance of this bygone period. It is a good way to add an extra cultural dimension to your stay in Beijing. The staff are extremely attentive, with a good level of English and there is a subway station and shopping/dining streets just a few minutes walk away.
