A boat ride along the Rio Frio, close to the border with Nicaragua, is a wonderful way to experience the exuberance and biodiversity of the region - ideal for nature lovers in particular. The Rio Frio flows through the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and your boat ride starts at the little town of Los Chiles. Along the you will see a huge variety of flora and hopefully observe some of the wildlife which resides here, including howler monkeys, three-toed sloths, herons, caiman, lizards, turtles and exotic bird life.
