Tropic Air is the largest airline in Belize. It was founded in 1979.


  • Tropic Air is the largest airline in Belize. It was founded in 1979. The airline has introduced modern aircraft in the domestic market in Belize which has played a key role in the promotion of the tourism industry in the country.
  • At present, the airline operates a network of 19 destinations and 4 countries, dominating the domestic aviation market in Belize. In the region, Tropic Air also serves Flores and Guatemala City, Cancun, Chetumal and Merida in Mexico, and San Pedro Sula in Honduras. Its main hub is at San Pedro Airport (SPR) and secondary hub at Belize City Municipal Airport (TZA).
  • Tropic Air has a fleet of eleven Cessna Grand Caravans (208B) – Glass Cockpit, two Gippsland Airvans (GA8), and two Cessna Turbo 182’s – Glass Cockpit. These aircraft are configured for three to fourteen passengers.

Checked Baggage:

2 checked bags, each with a maximum size of 62 linear inches (157cm) with a width limited to 30 inches (76cm) and a height of 15 inches (38cm). Due to cargo hold limitations, most bags that exceed 62 linear inches (157cm) in total dimensions may not be able to be transported at all

Hand Baggage:

1carry-on bag: Examples of allowable carry-ons are personal bags such as a purse or a small backpack. Maximum weight of these items cannot exceed 15lbs (6.8kgs).

 

International Flights

 

Checked Baggage:

1 checked bag with a size limit of 62 linear inches (157cm) with a width limited to 30 inches (76cm) and a height of 15 inches (38cm). Second Bag and subsequent bags are charged at USD$35.00

Hand Baggage:

1carry-on bag: Examples of allowable carry-ons are personal bags such as a purse or a small backpack. Maximum weight of these items cannot exceed 15lbs (6.8kgs). No Plane-Side check-in is allowed.

 

NOTE: Do not pack valuables or irreplaceable articles such as cash, camera equipment, jewellery, medicine, eyeglasses, securities, legal documents, antiques, computer and electronic items in any checked bag as Tropic Air will not be liable for damage to or loss of these items.
