Day at leisure in Antigua
Antigua is a wonderful city to explore at your leisure. Guatemala's cultural centre, replete with museums and churches and a charming atmosphere. Several optional excursions are available locally, or perhaps listen to the traditional Indian music in the bars and cafés and browse the many street markets.
At Easter the Processions are impressive, passing through the streets from Thursday to Sunday.

We cross the border to neighbouring Honduras today to visit to the remarkable Mayan site of Quiriguá and on to the impressive ruins of Copán.
Both sites are partly reclaimed from the jungle undergrowth, with sections still half-entangled in roots. We see their intricately carved recordings of a bygone age, and take a nature trail to the minor ball court, in this mysterious jungle setting. Overnight at our hotel in the village of Copán.
