Amankila

Located on a clifftop on Bali’s east coast, with sacred Mount Agung as its backdrop and unimpeded views of the Lombok Strait, Amankila is a breathtaking hilltop retreat with stilted and thatched suites and a spectacular infinity pool that cascades in three tiers down the hillside, reminiscent of a rice paddy. 

Amankila’s 31 suites (12 with private pools) enjoy ocean or garden views, and consummate privacy. Decorated with inlaid pearl and coconut-shell furniture, all suites feature canopied kingsize beds, a living area, large bathroom with a soaking tub, and an outdoor terrace.

Dining is available in the Tamansari Bale, overlooking Buitan Valley, the Restaurant, the Bar, the Terrace and the Beach Club. Indonesian and continental cuisine is available, plus afternoon tea in the library. Many of the ingredients come from local farms and the kitchen’s organic gardens.

Facilities include a beach fitness club, yoga, a 41 metre infinity pool, a library station and lawn games, extensive water sports equipment, a massage pavilion and spa. There is a cool sanctuary with newspapers, books and TV as well as regular art expeditions and workshops.

You can enjoy many water sports, diving with qualified PADI dive trainers, guided trekking, mountain biking, and visits to local temples and villages.
