Enjoy an wonderful evening sampling Jakarta's tasty street food with your expert local guide.

At about 6pm we transfer by air-conditioned car with a guide and to the heart of Jakarta. Our first stop is Wahid Hasyim Street to begin the tasty street food safari, sampling an array of dishes that reflect the city’s melting pot of diverse cultures and communities.

We begin the evening with the taste of rendang, a beef stew cooked for hours in coconut milk native to West Sumatra.  Then, enjoy two different styles of sate originating from Madura and Padang.  We explore further and enjoy Indonesia’s beloved street food dish: martabak. Watch as the vendor prepares these thin, crispy pancakes stuffed with a choice of sweet or savoury filling then savour the flavours of this signature dish. Wash it down with seasonal fruit juice terong belanda, or tamarillo juice.

Throughout the evening, your guide will help you engage with local residents offering insights into daily life in Jakarta and the city's vibrant street food culture. The experience continues with a taste of soto, a turmeric chicken soup cherished as a Javanese favourite and an essential dish on any street food tour. The adventure concludes with a serving of goat fried rice, a beloved specialty originating from Jakarta's Betawi tribe.

At the end of the street food safari, we return to your hotel.
