Explore the Jesuit Missions

After breakfast, drive south the Encarnación, stopping on the way in Santa María de Fe, a former Jesuit mission site known today for its charming museum housing sacred Baroque-Guaraní carvings, and a tranquil town square where monkeys live freely among locals. After checking into our hotel for a 1-night stay including breakfast, we visit the UNESCO protected Jesuit Reductions Christian settlements founded during Spanish colonisation to convert, teach and protect the native Guaraní people. These communities became remarkable centres of architecture, music, and craftsmanship, where Jesuit priests worked alongside Guaraní people.

Jesuit Missions & onto the Iguazu Falls

This morning, visit La Santísima Trinidad del Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangüe, two of the most impressive and well-preserved Jesuit ruins. Trinidad features grand architecture by Jesuit fathers Juan Bautista Prímoli and José Grimau, while Jesús de Tavarangüe stands out for its unique Moorish design. Both sites were declared World Heritage Sites in 1993.

In the afternoon, we drive to the Iguazu Falls and check into your chosen hotel for a 2-night stay including breakfast.
