Travel to Danpaati River Lodge
Depart by car inland to the Suriname River. From here, transfer to a motorised canoe and travel upriver arriving at the Danpaati River Lodge where we stay for 2 nights on a full board basis including daily excursions. The lodge is located on an island on the Upper Suriname River and has 10 two bed cabins and a superb pool where you can relax.
After dark take a cruise on the river searching for caimans that lie on the riverbanks and listen to the magical sounds of the Amazon rainforest.

Guiana Space Centre
We depart along the coastal road travelling east to the Maroni River. Here, we take the ferry into French Guiana and arrive at St Laurent from where we continue to Kourou. In the afternoon, we visit the Guiana Space Centre where you can see various rocket assembly buildings and the control centres of the incredible European satellite launch complex.
Continue to your hotel in Kourou, an attractive small seaside town with a distinct French flavour with cafes and restaurants. We stay overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

This morning enjoy a guided tour of Cayenne, visiting the 17th century old town with its attractive French, Brazilian and Caribbean influences. Observe the colourful Creole-style houses located sit close to the ruins of the French colonial Fort Cépérou, which overlooks the Cayenne River. There is also a good range of boutiques, shops and cafes to relax and enjoy. We then continue to St Laurent where from February to August leatherback and green sea turtles can be seen nesting on the beach. Check into your chosen hotel for a 1-night stay of a bed and breakfast basis.

Botanical gardens and Kaieteur Waterfalls
Up early today for a visit to Georgetown's Botanical Gardens, a haven for local birdlife. We then continue to the airport and take a local flight to the Demerara River, location of British Guyana's most spectacular site - the Kaieteur Waterfalls, one of the world's least-visited natural wonders. The falls are the largest single drop waterfalls by volume of water flowing over it. The falls are over 700 feet high, four times higher than the Niagaras Falls and twice the height of the Victoria Falls. In such a remote Amazon location, your experience today will live with you forever.
We return to Georgetown for our final night.

Fly to Atta Rainforest Lodge
Up early today for a local flight to the Amazon rainforest, where we transfer to Iwokrama River Lodge. Here, enjoy a boat trip and hike through the forest birdwatching and discovering the unqiue flora and fauna of the forest. We visit Turtle Mountain and climb to the top of an observation tower for a stunning view of the tree canopy. Lunch is included at the lodge today. In the afternoon, you can relax at the lodge of take a guided excursion into the forest in search of jaguars and other wildlife. We then continue to Atta Rainforest Lodge where we overnight on a full board basis.

Exploring the rainforest
Today we woken by the dawn chorus of Howler monkeys and Black Spider monkeys and other sounds of the forest. Today we drive through the forest in search of the amazing Cock-of-the-rock, notable for their bright orange or red feathers and very prominent fan-shaped crests. We reach the Surama Ameridian community who we meet and understand their unique way of life. Continue to a comfortable lodge for a 2 night stay on a full board basis.

Guided walks in the rainforest
Today we explore the Amazon rainforest on foot with a guided walk that ends at a local village. We also visit the Pakaraima Mountains and the Burro Burro River where Giant Otters, Tira and Tapir can be observed. We return to our lodge for a final night in the Amazon.
