Arriving in Mexico City on Friday enables exploration of the city at the weekend, when it is quieter and there are more cultural activities and markets to enjoy. On arrival (international flights not included), our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay.

Sundays is a great day to enjoy the relaxed and fin loving ambiance of Mexico's capital city. You may wish to join local people and families for a walk in Chapultepec park or go cycling on Avenida Reforma which is closed to traffic on Sundays. Enjoy a long lunch in one of the stylish restaurants with superb fusion cuisine.

We leave Mexico City and drive to Queretaro, stopping to explore. Continue to San Miguel de Allende, where we stay for 4 nights, our base to explore the major colonial and historic cities of Mexico's Independence Revolutions.

Guided tour of San Miguel de Allende
Enjoy a morning guided tour of San Miguel de Allende discovering its baroque Spanish architecture, art galleries, the Allende museum, imposing cathedral and the main square. Rest of the day is at leisure. Don't miss the cathedral that is dramatically lit up at night and do try one of the numerous little cafes where hot chocolate is a major delicacy.

Guanajuato and Dolores Hidalgo
Today we take an included full day tour visiting the colonial city of Guanajuato, with tiny alleyways, churches and colourful buildings to explore. Guanajuato has a fascinating history and was the site of the first battle in Mexico's War of Independence. We continue to Dolores Hidalgo, another important city in the Mexican revolution as well as being famous for its ceramics.
