The secluded award-winning Viceroy Riviera Maya resort is located on the Rivera Maya only 3 miles north of Playa del Carmen. Guests are welcomed by the Resident Shaman who performs a Mayan Blessing. After sipping a lemongrass and coconut welcome drink, the resorts’ Mayordormo butler team personally escort guests to their villa before hand-cutting a local Artisanal soap. There are 41 private luxury villas, each with private pool and individual butler service. Constructed with natural wood and stones and surrounded by luscious gardens, each villa features an outdoor terrace with sun loungers, dining table, handmade crochet hammock and outdoor shower. There is a spacious indoor bathroom with standing shower, separate basins and large closets. All beds feature Egyptian cotton sheets, duvet covers and glorious down pillows.

The La Marea restaurant offers dishes with Mediterranean, Asian, and Mexican influences. Fresh seafood and an array of chef's specialities are prepared daily. The pastry chef prepares breads, rolls, and croissants from a variety of fragrant doughs and local ingredients. The wine list represents much of the world, most notable are French, Italian and Spanish wines. The Grill serves snacks and light dishes during the day including a delicious lobster club sandwich. The Bar is one of the most exciting places at Viceroy Riviera Maya with views of the Mayan sunset and the island of Cozumel, great to meet friends for a cocktail before dinner.

The full service spa at Viceroy Riviera Maya offers guests a steam room, jacuzzi, Swiss showers with adjustable water pressure, and individual treatment areas. There is also a seaside spa area for Temazcal bath, massages, facials, treatments, tai chi, and yoga. The spa's philosophy is that the sea is a fountain of energy, where we achieve equilibrium, comfort and gain the ability to restore indispensable vital elements. The Temazcal bath combines a cleansing sweat bath with herbs, flowers, music, and a soothing massage. There is also a full service beauty salon.
