Chinchero, Moray & Maras
An early start today driving to the small town of Chinchero where we visit the colourful and authentic market where indigenous people from the surrounding communities congregate to trade their goods. Chinchero is particularly well-known for its woven handcrafts typical of the region.
Continue to the Moray ruins, used by the Incas as a type of open-air crop laboratory. The circular terraces have different temperatures at different levels, and therefore the Incas were able to develop different types of crops for each level.

Our final stop is Maras pre-Inca salt mines located on a wide-open hill above the Urubamba Valley, with wonderful views.

Machu Picchu
For many, the highlight of your journey is today's full day excursion to Machu Picchu. We join the Vistadome train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu arriving at Aguas Calientes.

We continue up a winding road to the site of Machu Picchu, so perfectly hidden it is not surprising that it took so long to discover. You then have time to explore this incredible site with our guide, depending on your interests. Later in the afternoon, we return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley by train.

Today we travel though beautiful scenery to Willoq, where the villagers are direct descendants of the Incas and still wear their traditional red ponchos and shawls unaffected by western influence.

The Willoq community is also well known for its weaving and the quality of the textiles.

Today we cross the Andes aboard the unforgettable Peru Rail Titicaca Train - a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The train features an open-air observatory car, allowing guests to enjoy majestic views while listening to typical music of the Peruvian highlands.
