Arrive in Lima in the morning. After checking into your hotel for a 2-night stay including breakfast, enjoy a tour of the city discovering Lima's colonial and modern districts.

We also visit the Museo Arqueologico Rafael Larco Herrera that showcases 3,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. The museum is very impressive with the finest gold and silver collection from ancient Peru and famous erotic archaeological collection.

Lima is world famous for its fusion cuisine, so today we will challenge your senses by tasting products in a local market and visit Chinatown to taste some Peruvian-Chinese food. We also visit the historic centre of Lima observing its monuments and its elegant architecture. Finally you will learn how to prepare the national dish - ceviche. A highly enjoyable gastronomic experience! 

An early start today driving to the small town of Chinchero where we visit the colourful and authentic market where indigenous people from the surrounding communities congregate to trade their goods.  Chinchero is particularly well-known for its woven handcrafts typical of the region.

Continue to the Moray ruins, used by the Incas as a type of open-air crop laboratory. The circular terraces have different temperatures at different levels, and therefore the Incas were able to develop different types of crops for each level.

Our final stop is Maras pre-Inca salt mines located on a wide-open hill above the Urubamba Valley, with wonderful views. 

For many, the highlight of your journey is today's full day excursion to Machu Picchu. We join the Vistadome train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu arriving at Aguas Calientes.

We continue up a winding road to the site of Machu Picchu, so perfectly hidden it is not surprising that it took so long to discover. You then have time to explore this incredible site with our guide, depending on your interests. Later in the afternoon, we return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley by train.

Today we travel though beautiful scenery to Willoq, where the villagers are direct descendants of the Incas and still wear their traditional red ponchos and shawls unaffected by western influence.

The Willoq community is also well known for its weaving and the quality of the textiles.

Lunch is included today after which we continue to the charming village of Patacancha. 

Our guide will showcase this wonderful city starting with a visit to the Cathedral in the main square of Cusco and the Koricancha, the Spanish church built on Inca stone foundations.

We then drive to the mountains above Cusco to visit the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman and Kenko. 

Today we cross the Andes aboard the unforgettable Peru Rail Titicaca Train - a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The train features an open-air observatory car, allowing guests to enjoy majestic views while listening to typical music of the Peruvian highlands.

Once aboard, you sit at a table by the window in carriages decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s - with the Andean Mountain landscape passing by.

Lunch and afternoon tea are served at your seat. The train stops a several points where locals try to sell their wares.

On arrival in Puno, transfer to the all-inclusive Titilaca Lodge for a 3-night stay including all meals, all drinks and included excursions each day.  

Today choose from a range of guided excursions depending on your interests, including nature and archaeology adventures, visiting living cultures in the local villages, colonial churches, a boat trip to Taquile Island and perhaps most unique of all, the nearby man-made floating islands of the Uros people.

Known as "The Canyon of the Guardians," legend has it that ancient giants were turned to stone by the gods, remaining forever as silent watchers of this mystical landscape.

Rich in history, mythology, and culture, this place, with its almost otherworldly grandeur, immerses you in the majestic stillness of the Andes, leaving you with a profound sense of awe. At an altitude of over 12,900 ft, Tinajani has a climate that remains cool and dry for much of the year. The clear skies make it an ideal destination to enjoy the landscape and stargaze on clear nights.

This morning we drive to the Colca Valley and onto Puqio where we check into the luxury tented camp for a 3-night stay including all meals, drinks with meals, activities and excursions.

Staying here is to experience nature. Fuming volcanoes, sweeping grasslands, and untrodden pathways await daily exploration. At night, the rustic elegance rejuvenates the body and spirit of the experienced traveller. 

This morning drive to Arequipa and check into your chosen hotel for a 2-night stay including breakfast. Arequipa is Peru's second largest city founded in 1540. It is a delightful city set in a green valley among the high-altitude deserts and volcanoes of southern Peru.

The buildings in the centre have been built almost exclusively of the volcanic material 'sillar', a white, porous rock, giving Arequipa its nickname of 'La Ciudad Blanca' - 'The White City'.

Today enjoy a guided tour of Arequipa visiting the church of La Compania, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral.

The star attraction is the vast Santa Catalina Convent, built in 1579 in Mudéjar style and characterised by its vividly painted walls.
