Copacabana & Sun Island

Cross the Bolivian border to visit the birthplace of the Inca Empire and one of the country's most important churches.

This excursion starts with an early transfer by road to Copacabana across the border in Bolivia, home to one of the country's most important churches. You will then board a catamaran to sail to the Isla del Sol (Sun Island) - the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. You will have the chance to visit the remains of the Pilko Kaina Inca Palace and trek up to the small Yumani village and enjoy the views from El Mirador. On the way down you can see the Inca fountain and steps, before heading back to Puno.
