Day 1 Buenos Aires

Welcome to Buenos Aires, where you’ll stay overnight. Resplendent with Belle Époque buildings, sidewalk cafes and green spaces, there’s the fiery passion of Latin America – a collective love for football, flame-cooked meats (asado) and the tango. Some of the highlights are La Boca, a colourful, creative mecca with a must-do art walk, and San Telmo, a former aristocratic neighbourhood abandoned during a 19th-century epidemic. Mansions were turned into conventillos (shared housing), boutique hotels, antique shops, and tango clubs, exuding a captivating bohemian vibe.

Day 2 - Ushuaia and embark Scenic Eclipse

Depart Buenos Aires on an included flight to Ushuaia, the gateway to Antarctica and the world’s southernmost city, nestled on the rugged shores of Tierra del Fuego. The Captain and crew will warmly greet you as you board your ultra-luxury Scenic Discovery Yacht.   

Raise a glass of Champagne as you set sail through the legendary Beagle Channel, tracing the path of Charles Darwin’s historic voyage. From your private verandah or the Observation Deck, take in breathtaking views of the snow-capped Andean peaks and pristine Patagonian wilderness — marking the beginning of an unforgettable Expedition Voyage.  

Day 3 - At Sea

Enjoy breakfast in your suite as your Scenic Discovery Yacht navigates the legendary Drake Passage bound for Antarctica. Enjoy the facilities of the ship, and take in the vast expanse of the Southern Ocean as each moment brings you closer to an unforgettable exploration.  Feel the excitement building as the Discovery Team shares with you all the details on how your Zodiac, helicopter, submersible and other Discovery Excursions will work. Get familiar with the team and your polar equipment – your expedition kit includes an expedition parka and water bottle that are yours to take home, plus the use of specialised polar boots, trekking poles and specific equipment you need for kayak and stand-up paddleboard activities.

Day 4 - Antarctica

Today you will enter Antarctic waters, an unpredictable but stunningly beautiful environment. Head to the Observation Deck to spot icebergs for the first time – it’s a feeling that will stay with you forever.   

Watch out for whale blows in the distance. Your Discovery Team will be available to provide insightful information. Join the fascinating enrichment lecture on marine and seabird life. On board, savour a leisurely lunch at Azure Bar & Café, where you can graze throughout the day as you take in spectacular ocean views. This evening, enjoy a glass of Champagne at Lumière's Champagne Bar, or choose from a range of distinct culinary experiences, before settling into an evening of thoughtfully curated entertainment.

Day 5 - Antarctica

Slide open the floor-to-ceiling doors of your verandah suite to see icebergs sculpted by nature and glacial mountains rising from the ocean. Antarctica is a birdwatcher's delight, home to a variety of species, so keep your eyes peeled for wandering albatrosses, shearwaters, giant petrels and more.  Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, Discovery Excursions throughout your Expedition Voyage are dependent on weather and ice conditions. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader, who have made countless journeys to Antarctica, will use their expertise to design a bespoke voyage, making the most of your time in this spectacular destination. Visit the open bridge on Deck 7 to meet the Captain and navigational team and gain first-hand insight into a Scenic Discovery Yacht’s state-of-the-art technology from one of the most inspiring vantage points on board. 

Scenic Discovery: Daily experiences may include cruising on Zodiacs, stepping ashore to view vast penguin rookeries or historic huts, and kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding around icebergs.

Day 6 - Antarctica

Set out on Zodiac excursions to explore breathtaking glaciated bays, tranquil channels and pristine landing sites. As you trek across the Antarctic wilderness, meet the adorable chinstrap, Adélie and gentoo penguins that inhabit this magical region. Small groups offer the best way to experience an environmentally sensitive destination like Antarctica. You will board the Zodiacs according to your designated colour, with our expert polar Discovery Team guiding you, ensuring an unforgettable and unique adventure.   Back on board, warm up in the Senses Spa, with infrared saunas, steam room and signature thermal loungers or gather at the Observation Lounge where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the polar landscape. 

Day 7 - Antarctica

Various species of penguins can be found in the Antarctic and the sub-Antarctic region, including Adélie, chinstrap and the gentoo. Guided by your expert Discovery Team, you’ll witness colonies up close; hear their calls and watch as they clumsily waddle along and interact with each other. Whales are another majestic creature you may encounter, including minke whales, humpback whales or orcas. Watch them up close in a kayak or a Zodiac with your Discovery Team or observe them from the comfort of your ultra-luxury Scenic Discovery Yacht. Whichever way you see them, it’s a breathtaking experience.

Day 8 - Antarctica

From the moment it was discovered, Antarctica has held an irresistible allure for intrepid explorers. The bold exploits of legendary explorers like Scott, Shackleton, and Amundsen have fuelled its mystique, inspiring generations to venture into this untamed wilderness. On this unforgettable day, you’ll cruise past Antarctica's stunning icy mountains before stepping ashore by Zodiac to immerse yourself in the polar wilderness. With ample time to explore, this voyage ensures you experience the magic of this awe-inspiring landscape up close. Back on board, enjoy a warm speciality tea or coffee in the Observation Lounge and take in the views through the Swarovski telescopes.  

Day 9 - Antarctica

In the untouched silence of this frozen wilderness, nature’s rare sounds become unforgettable, whether it’s the endearing chatter of penguins squabbling over prized pebbles or the thunderous roar of a glacier calving into the sea.   Towering glaciers provide one of the most awe-inspiring spectacles of your journey, with the chance to witness massive ice formations breaking away, creating brand-new icebergs before your eyes, a moment of pure wonder. On board, explore some of your Scenic Discovery Yacht’s indulgent spaces, from the welcoming Observation Lounge to the expansive Senses Spa. Choose from a selection of world-class culinary experiences on board tonight.   

Day 10 - Antarctica

Start the day at your own pace — perhaps with breakfast delivered by your butler to your spacious suite. Then, bundle up in your complimentary polar parka and step onto the Observation Deck, where the breathtaking icy landscapes provide a once-in-a-lifetime backdrop for this special day of exploration. 

Scenic Discovery: Glide past towering icebergs on a Zodiac, step onto untouched white snow, and soar over vast mountain ranges. This is one of the world's few remaining pristine wildernesses, awaiting your exploration.  

Day 11 - At Sea

As you cruise back across the Drake Passage toward South America, take this time to indulge in the ultra-luxury comforts of your Scenic Discovery Yacht, and reflect on the awe-inspiring moments you’ve experienced.  Perhaps start your day with an invigorating workout in the state-of-the-art gym, a guided Pilates session, or a moment of relaxation in the yoga & pilates studio. During the day, the theatre comes to life with captivating lectures from our Discovery Team. As evening arrives, unwind in the elegant Scenic Lounge Bar, where you can toast to your expedition with a perfectly aged whiskey, a glass of fine wine, or a flute of French Champagne — all part of Scenic’s truly all-inclusive ultra-luxury philosophy.

Day 12 - At Sea towards Ushuaia, Argentina

Travel isn’t just about where you go; it’s about how you feel along the way. Days at sea on board your Scenic Discovery Yacht offer something rare: the chance to slow down, reflect and embrace the beauty of the ocean. It’s not a pause, it’s part of the adventure.  Make sure you book a final treatment at the  Spa before your Expedition Voyage ends. Perhaps an ESPA facial or massage or an alternative therapy including Ayurvedic treatments or Japanese shiatsu. Afterwards, hold on to that feeling of calm for a whilst longer in the Zen-like space of the Vitality Lounge. Return to one of your favourite bars and lounges for a pre or post dinner drink, then savour refined dining before live music brings your evening gently to a close. 

Day 13 - Ushuaia and Buenos Aires

This morning, bid farewell to your expert crew and fellow travellers as your extraordinary journey comes to an end. Disembark after breakfast in Ushuaia and board your flight to Buenos Aires.

Antarctica, South Georgia & Falkland Islands

DAY 1 - Buenos Aires

Latin passion and European romance define the beautiful Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, a dynamic city known for its wide-ranging architectural styles, contemporary and historical arts, and culinary experiences. Transfer to the cruise terminal in Buenos Aires where your journey into wonder begins with a warm greeting from the Captain and crew as you board your Scenic Discovery Yacht. Sip on a glass of Champagne and explore your luxurious suite, then join your fellow guests at the Sky Bar to toast the start of an unforgettable voyage.

DAY 2 - At sea

Wake up in your own time as we cruise through the remote southern Atlantic Ocean on our way to the Falkland Islands. Perhaps ask your butler for breakfast to be delivered to your spacious suite or meet fellow guests in the Yacht Club. Join an introductory presentation about your polar expedition by the polar Discovery Team in the state-of-the-art theatre. Feel the excitement building as they explain how your Zodiac and other Discovery Excursions will work in the coming days. The theatre is where you can watch talks, lectures, movies and documentaries during the day. At night, enjoy productions from musical theatre and cabaret to pop music, dance and fun interactive game shows.

DAY 3 - At sea

Make yourself at home on board and settle in at the spacious Scenic Lounge Bar with your drink of your choice. Curl up with a coffee in the quiet of the Observation Lounge and Library or enjoy a day of indulgence in the Senses Spa. Join one of the Discovery Team’s daily lectures and discussions, covering everything from Antarctica's history and polar exploration to glaciology, wildlife, climate change and more.

DAY 4 - At sea

As you cruise south, wildlife spotting opportunities abound. Your expert Discovery Team will be with you out on the deck looking for albatrosses, prions, and petrels that follow the ship. Use the complimentary binoculars you’ll find in your suite or head to the Swarovski telescopes on the Observation Terrace.

DAY 5 - Falkland Islands

Considered one of the wonders of the far Southern Hemisphere, the Falkland Islands overflow with natural beauty. The windswept green hills and clear waters lapping the white sand beaches could be mistaken for a much more tropical location. Over the next few days, you will explore these spectacular islands. You may call at the historic capital, Stanley, which has a distinctly British feel, right down to its cosy pubs and elegant Christ Church Cathedral. West Point Island is another potential landing site, famed for its vast cliffside colony of black-browed albatross, as is Rookery Point, home to thousands of breeding pairs of penguins.

DAY 6 - Falkland Islands

These remote and sparsely populated islands are a wildlife lover’s paradise. The world’s largest population of Gentoo penguins is found here, in addition to King, Magellanic and Rockhopper penguins, and vast numbers of shearwaters and petrels. Fur and elephant seals roam sandy beaches, while the surrounding waters are home to whales and dolphins. You will also learn about their fascinating and tumultuous history. Since the 18th century, ownership of the Falkland Islands has been contested between France, Britain, Spain and Argentina. Following the Falklands War of 1982, the islands have been part of the British Commonwealth.

Battlefields, a Mountain Perspective: Visit the key sites of the Falklands War on a Battlefields Tour, delving into the events that led up to the 1982 conflict.

Stanley Highlights: This tour by coach offers a thorough introduction to the town's key sights and historical landmarks.

Fitz Roy Farm Tour:  Begin at the Jetty Visitor Centre with a brief history of the Falklands, then to the shearing shed for a live shearing demonstration and wool lesson.

DAY 7 - At sea

Today, sample some of the extraordinary dining experiences on your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht. The Discovery Team will also be back in the theatre with more fascinating talks on the upcoming destinations.

DAY 8 - At sea

Sailing towards South Georgia gives you time to slow to the rhythm of the sea. Enjoy your time to relax and spot the many seabirds you’ll encounter on your way. You may decide to join the avid whale watchers on the Observation Terrace. Alternatively, retreat to the tranquillity of the Senses Spa to recharge your body and mind before a busy few days on shore. The Discovery Team will be on hand to share their wildlife spotting tips. Join an insightful lecture to learn more about your next port of call, the remarkable South Georgia.

DAY 9 - South Georgia

After arriving in the morning, your next few days in South Georgia will introduce you to its striking landscapes, abundant wildlife and fascinating human legacy. In the coming days you may land at Fortuna Bay, home to King Penguins, Antarctic fur seals, elephant seals, brown skuas, giant petrels and Antarctic terns. At the settlement of Grytviken you can pay your respects at the grave of explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and see the rusting remnants of an old whaling station. Other potential landing sites include Saint Andrews Bay, known for its huge breeding colony of King penguins, and Gold Harbour, a dramatic bay with abundant King penguins and elephant seals.

DAY 10 - South Georgia

Keep your cameras at the ready as you explore South Georgia. With breathtaking landscapes, vast colonies of wildlife and adorable seal pups exploring their new world, the island could provide some incredible photographs. At the settlement of Grytviken, pay your respects at the grave of explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and see the rusting remnants of an old whaling station.

Back on board, explore some of your Discovery Yacht’s indulgent spaces, from the welcoming Observation Lounge to the expansive Senses Spa. Soothe your muscles in the sauna or heated therapy lounge.

DAY 11 - South Georgia

Prepare to be amazed by the abundant wildlife that calls this island home. From the majestic presence of thousands of King penguins to the sight of elephant seals and male fur seals staking their claim on the beaches, every moment promises unforgettable memories. The Discovery Team will share their knowledge of the remarkable creatures that live here and explain how important the landscape is for the breeding and survival of different species on the island.

DAY 12 - South Georgia

Enjoy one more day exploring the awe-inspiring beauty of South Georgia, where nature's grandeur unfolds in dramatic landscapes unlike anywhere else. Picture yourself amidst a mountainous island rising majestically from the sea, adorned with pristine snow and glistening glaciers.

They will help you immortalise these incredible moments while cruising on the Zodiacs, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding around impressive ice formations.

Day 13 - At Sea

If you haven’t had time to visit the bridge yet, be sure to do so today. Learn more about the technical abilities of The World’s First Discovery Yacht and see it in full operation. The bridge is also one of the best viewing areas on the ship.

Then delve into an insightful conversation with one of our Discovery Team members after an educational lecture in the state-of-the-art theatre. Recap the incredible things you’ve seen on South Georgia Island, from the dramatic landscapes to abundant wildlife, as they share their passion for science and exploration.

DAY 14 - At sea

Today, search for icebergs as you enter Antarctic waters. Put on your complimentary polar parka and head out on the Observation Deck to watch for seabirds, such as the wandering albatross, shearwaters, giant petrels and more. Alternatively, look for the blow of a whale in the distance. Get ready to be amazed by the stunning display of colossal tabular icebergs as you cruise through the renowned Antarctic Sound.

The Discovery Team will help you prepare for your first landing on the White Continent, offering insight and inspiration as well as giving you practical information about your upcoming polar expedition.

DAY 15 - Antarctica

Arriving in Antarctica for the first time is unlike anything you have experienced before. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, your itinerary is open and dependent on the ice and weather conditions.

During your voyage we may have the opportunity to visit various locations over the following days. Such as visit Deception Island, one of the only places in the world that ships can sail directly into the centre of a submerged caldera of an active volcano. Another highlight is Brown Bluff, a stunning ice-capped volcanic cliff towering above a large Adelie penguin rookery. Additionally, you could take a Zodiac cruise past the breathtaking Devil Island or go ashore at Telefon Bay to see penguins, seabirds and seals. DAY 16 - Antarctica

At the heart of your Antarctic voyage is the Discovery Team of up to 20 leading polar experts with diverse qualifications, from science to geology, botany, history, photography, marine biology and glaciology. They will answer your most curious questions and be with you throughout every moment of your journey.

For a truly unique and exclusive experience, add a helicopter excursion^ to visit Snow Hill Island, one of only two Emperor penguin colonies of its kind in the Peninsula. Departing by helicopter from your Discovery Yacht in the Weddell Sea, you’ll land on Snow Hill Island and walk 1.5 kilometres with your Discovery Team to see the colony. The Emperor penguins are only present at this location at the start of the Antarctica season and there are only a couple of voyages with this experience.

DAY 17 - Antarctica

Awake this morning in the unpredictable and stunningly beautiful environment that always finds a way to surprise you. Step out onto your private verandah and see icebergs towering out of the ocean thousands of metres tall. Remarkable wildlife encounters await during your time in Antarctica. Going ashore to visit a penguin colony is an unforgettable experience. Watch the sea for humpback, blue, fin and minke whales, as well as the distinctive black and white orcas.

DAY 18 - Antarctica

Be sure to pack your swimming costume, because you could be going for a swim. For many, the polar plunge is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a rite of passage for an expedition to Antarctica. Once throughout your voyage, the marina will be set up for the brave people who want to jump into the freezing Antarctic waters. Invigorating, exciting, and surprisingly refreshing. If you choose to skip the polar plunge, make sure you find a good viewing location as you feel the chills of everyone coming out of the water. Join them for a cup of hot chocolate or toast with a glass of whiskey.

DAY 19 - Antarctica

There are endless ways to experience Antarctica. You may be on Scenic Eclipse, watching from the comfort of the Observation Lounge, on a Zodiac excursion or immersed in the environment on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Walking across the rocky beaches or crunching through the snow, you’ll be awed by the dramatic landscapes and unique wildlife that can only be found at the edge of the earth.

DAY 20 - At sea

After days of enriching discoveries, this morning it’s time to reflect on your journey. As this is one of your last days on board, enjoy a final session in the infrared sauna, relax in the Salt Therapy Lounge or lunch at the Yacht Club. Swap stories and favourite memories with your new friends.

DAY 21 - At sea towards Ushuaia

Crossing the Drake Passage back to the southern tip of South America, reflect on the magic of the Southern Ocean and the life that calls it home. Watch the wild seas from the comfort of your suite or the large windows of the Observation Lounge, complete with a warming coffee or whiskey.

DAY 22 - Ushuaia to Buenos Aires

Your voyage ends this morning as you farewell the crew and fellow guests. Disembark after breakfast in Ushuaia for your included transfer flight to Buenos Aires where your journey concludes, taking away memories of a truly unforgettable experience.
