Beagle Channel - Gateway to the Southern Ocean

From the southern tip of Argentina, visitors can enjoy sweeping views over the legendary Beagle Channel - named after HMS Beagle, the ship aboard which CharleS Darwin sailed through these waters in 1832.

Today, the channel is a hub for scenic day-cruises and expedition voyages, linking the fjords and remote channels of Patagonia with the icy frontier of the Antarctic Peninsula. Larger ships and smaller catamarans alike navigate its dramatic waters, offering close encounters with sea lions, cormorants and even glaciers.

Whether admired from the town of Ushuaia or explored by boat, the Beagle Channel is on of the South America's most atmospheric maritime experiences, rich in wildlife and steeped in historical significance.
