In Bolivia's remote southwest, the Siloli and Dali Deserts offer surreal and captivating landscapes, shaped by the volcanic activity, wind, and time. These deserts from part of the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and are known for their dramatic rock formation and colourful terrain.
Arbol de Piedra - The Stone Tree
The highlight of the Siloli Desert is the Arbol de Piedra, a freestanding rock formation aroded by centuries of wind into shape of tree. Set against the wide, open plains, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of the Bolivian Altiplano.
Dreamlike Landscapes
The nearby Dali Desert is named for its resemblance to surrealist artworks. Its sparse, scattered rocks and unsual tones evoke a dreamlike stillness, offering a powerful sense of isolation and wonder.
