Fly to Rio de Janeiro
Departure on a daytime flight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for 3 nights. Our guide will take you on a walk to introduce you to the area surroundings your hotel so that you can get your bearings. This short introduction to Rio (up to one hour) will help with your orientation.
City tour of Rio
Enjoy a half-day tour of the city, including Rio’s famous statue of Christ the Redeemer, perched high on Corcovado Mountain with dramatic views of the sea, Guanabara Bay and the famed beaches. From here we visit the bohemian district of Santa Teresa, once home to the rich and famous it's now occupied by galleries, writers, musicians and artists. Our journey continues into the city centre for lunch at one of Rio's oldest coffee shops, after which you visit the cathedral and the historical district to admire the strong colonial architecture and charming atmosphere.

Rio de Janeiro - Tourist Hotel
The Sol Ipanema is located on Ipanema Beach, in the upmarket residential area of Ipanema. Rio de Janeiro - Deluxe Hotel

Fly to Iguassu and check into your chosen hotel for a 2 night stay. Rest of the day at leisure. The magnificent Iguassu Falls cascade over a curve of the Iguassu river that meanders the border between Brazil and Argentina. It is a truly extraordinary and invigorating sight with mighty torrents of water flowing over an area of 2.5 kilometres.

Iguassu Falls - Tourist Hotel
Located outside the town of Iguassu and well outside the National Parkarea, this hotel is excellent value, with 295 fully equipped modern rooms with wooden floors, a restaurant, bar and spacious leisure area with a large swimming pool.
Iguassu Falls - First Hotel
The Bourbon has a spacious area, excellent facilities, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a health club and two restaurants. It is located on the road between the town and the Iguassu Falls and the best hotel outside the National Park area. There are 300 rooms all with air-conditioning, able TV and bathroom.

Our expert local guide will introduce you to the flora and fauna of this incredible natural wonder. You will learn about making ropes, climbing trees and the food that the local people hunt and forage in the forest. After dinner tonight, we take to the river on an night adventure, spotting caiman and other creatures - quite an amazing experience!
Explore the Rio Negro
Today we exploring the Rio Negro, taking canoe trips on the narrow, flooded creeks and streams in the company of local guides. There is also time for some piranha fishing in the afternoon, with time to relax and enjoy the rainforest views from the sun deck of the M/V Tucano as she cruises on the mighty river.
Meeting of the waters
We sail back towards Manaus, where we experience the ‘meeting of the waters’ where the darker coloured waters of the Rio Negro meets the Amazon River creating two distinct rivers in one. Quite a fascinating phenomenon. We overnight on Manaus.

The Tucano Experience
Venture further into the Brazilian Amazon wilderness aboard the specialist-built Tucaco Riverboat in the company of experienced naturalist guides, who lead memorable small group shore excursions to pristine bio-diverse areas.
Excursions & Sightseeing
The daily schedule takes you ashore or into a smaller boat up to five times each day, sometimes via kayaks, other times in motorised canoes or often on foot, following primitive and little-trodden paths into the jungle. Hundreds of species of birds make their homes in this remote location, far from the reach of the city lights and visits to small communities will offer valuable insights into life in the world's biggest rainforest and their unique customs and culture. Ancient trees tower high, draped in vines at their base and covered with orchids. After dinner you will head out again, this time in search of the Amazon's mysterious nocturnal creatures.
You will encounter a range of unique habitats, including both types of flooded forests and the extraordinary phenomenon of the meeting of the waters, where the silty light brown waters of the Rio Solimoes runs side-by-side for several miles with the dark current of the Rio Negro.
Fly to Salvador
Disembark after breakfast and fly to Salvador and transfer to your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay. Here, catholicism and candomble deities live side-by-side, and the art, architecture, exotic cuisine and unique rhythms of music and dance reflect the strong Portuguese and African influences. Your guide will give you a short introduction to Salvador when you arrive.
Salvador city tour
Enjoy a guided tour of Salvador exploring the markets, churches and colourful Pelourinho district, a World Heritage Site, with cobbled streets, bordered by brightly painted houses and street cafes. We explore the upper and lower parts of the city, we visit churches, squares, fortifications and symbols of Salvador's rich diversity of faiths and cultures, as we immerse ourselves into the heart of Brazil's colonial roots from Portuguese and African influences.
