Pousada do Mondego

Located next to the stunning church of St. Francis of Assisi, Pousada do Mondego, built in 1747 as a former Vila Rica. The Pousada reflects the charm and dignity of Ouro Preto, the former capital of Minas Gerais, a historic city designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1980. To preserve history, the Pereira family included all the comforts of modern hospitality, while reshaping structures with original materials; maintaining the authentic ambiance and services with the warmth and traditionalism that is genuinely “Mineiro”.

The delightful 23 apartments and Suites all have a ceiling fan, luxury beds, safe, TV, hair dryer and private bathroom.

Public facilities include, a lounge, breakfast room and the Conímbriga Bar where light snacks are served. There is an art gallery, antiques, handicrafts and art display. All the furniture is typical  antique-style. Tours of Ouro Preto and other nearby historical towns are available. 

The rates are on a bed and breakfast basis.
