Art galleries and museums might not be the first things that come to mind when you think about Rio de Janeiro, but the city has a thriving arts scene and a collection of fascinating museums which showcase the work of a huge variety of Brazilian artists.

Accompanied by our guides, you can visit a variety of galleries, ateliers, museums and/or exhibitions, tailored according to your own particular interests. Rio boasts a variety of well-known artists, who specialize in painting, ceramics, sculpture and more. These include Helena Souto, Favoretto, Mario Garcia, Sami Hilal and Angelo Venosa, among others.

Some of the main galleries in Rio include: Mercedes Viegas, H.A.P, Anita Schwartz and Toulouse. A visit to the Museum of Modern Art can be included, or perhaps the Museum of Contemporary Art - a work of art in its own right, having been designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and boasting views over the bay and the city of Rio.
