There is no better place to experience the amazing atmosphere of a Brazilian football match, than perhaps in the most iconic and revered stadium in the world - the Maracanã. Built for the 1950 Word Cup, it originally seated 200.000 people. but after major restoration works it now holds 78,000 . Major games include the local derby between Flamengo and Fluminense, dubbed Flu-Fla, as well as the regular league games between the four major Rio clubs, including Botafogo and Vasco de Gama. Attending a match with their loyal and enthusiastic supporters is an experience never to be forgotten.
