Admire the native monkey puzzle trees, deep ravines and picturesque lagoons of this prized national park.
Around a one hour drive from Pucón is the splendid Huerquehue National Park, packed with an abundance of flora and fauna. The most noted inhabitants here are the native araucaria monkey puzzle trees, which stand proud on the hillside, watching down over shimmering lakes. Deep ravines, formed in the glacial era, and small lagoons create dramatic landscapes and ideal habitats for interesting bird-life. An uphill hike, lasting around 2-3 hours, leads to a particularly scenic spot for a picnic and perhaps a refreshing swim. The nearby Huife Hot Springs will then soothe your limbs and round off a memorable day.
