Founded in 1842, Salento was one of the first settlements in the QuindÃo state and still today it preserves its colonial bahareque architecture. Salento's centuries old buildings are awash in harmonious colour, especially along Calle Real, the main street lined end-to-end with restaurants, bars, handicrafts shops and souvenir shops.
