Located in the Tandayapa Valley in the Bellavista Cloud Forest, a subtropical cloud forest that preserves impressive biodiversity, with over 300 species of birds, as well as mammals, frogs, insects, and extraordinary orchids. The area is a natural refuge and an example of active conservation.

Here, observe the Andean cock of the rock, Andean toucans, hummingbirds, quetzals, trogons, and the most vibrant tanagers - at close range. You can also see rare and seldom-seen mammals such as the olinguito, the coati, the capuchin monkey - and even the spectacled bear .

The spacious rooms have private bathroom, safe, free wi-fi and fan. 

Public areas include the ‘Dawn in the Clouds’ restaurant, lounge, bar and area where the guides give daily lectures. The activities on offer (extra cost) include guided walks in the cloud forest, bird watching tours, photography tours, visits to community-based businesses, such as chocolate tours and panela (unrefined cane sugar) factories.

You can visit Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge on a day trip from Quito, or better still, stay for 1 or 2 nights. The overnight rates include transfers from Quito and all meals. There are also specialised programmes for bird watchers and photographers.
