The charming capital of Guyana, with many examples of British colonial architecture.

Georgetown is the capital city of Guyana, located directly on the North Atlantic coast and with a small population of only 75,000 people. The capital still reflects the mainly British colonial past with many examples of British architecture including the gothic style St George Anglican Cathedral. The city has a good range of hotels, shopping opportunities such as Stabroek market where you can buy locally produced arts and crafts.

The Botanical Gardens have a huge variety of tropical flowers, palms and lilies. including the immense Victoria Regia Lily, Guyana’s national flower. The Guyana Zoo is located within the Botanical Gardens and home to many species you will see in the Amazon.
