Arrive in Bali, transfer to Ubud
After arriving early morning, you will be met by your guide and transferred to the deluxe Samsara Hotel, Ubud for a 4 night stay on a bed and breakfast basis with lunch included each day. This is also the opportunity for our guide to provide you with expert local advice, explain your programme and answer any questions you may have. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at your hotel.

Ubud and Around
After breakfast, guided by a local Balinese Shaman Pak Ketut in Mas Village we visit the Pura Desa Brahma Temple. Learn about the temple and the importance of rituals in Balinese daily life. The Sharman will perform a purification ritual followed by a chakra opening and palm reading
After an included Balinese lunch, continue with your guide to explore Ubud, visiting the Agung Rai Museum of Art with one of the best permanent collections of Balinese and Indonesian paintings & sculptures.
We then visit the Sacred Monkey Forest and to get into the local spirit by donning a traditional sarong (the fabric worn by men and women). We also visit Ubud Palace and Ubud Market, where local vendors come to buy and sell food as well as handicrafts and textiles.

Bayad Ecotrek and Spa Visit
Today enjoy a guided trek away from the main tourist areas to Bayad, a typical countryside village set amid the rice paddies. The two-hour trek through a tropical forest passes over small rivers and streams, tropical fruit trees and stopping to visit an impressive spice garden and herb garden. Explore a natural waterfall and see an unusual Balinese bamboo water organ at a pumpkin patch. We also visit Goa Maya, an impressive cave with a labyrinth of tunnels and sacred Hindu statues.
After an included local lunch, visit a tranquil spa in Ubud, set in serene tropical surroundings, and enjoy a traditional Lomi Lomi massage by an internationally trained spa therapist.

Bali Eco Discovery Day
Spend today with a local guide for a day of eco inspiration. Begin with a visit to the John Hardy showroom and workshop and admire various buildings made from low impact materials such as bamboo, adobe and thatch. Watch master artisans create fine jewellery using the same techniques as the artisans of Bali’s ancient royal courts. Continue to Green Village, an eco-friendly community of eighteen bamboo homes. Meet with a passionate environmentalist for a tour of the village, discovering the unique design and sustainable principles of the structures.
After an organic lunch in the Green Village, continue to a bamboo factory and then an organic chocolate factory and learn everything there is to know about this delectable treat and local methods for producing it.

Waterfall trekking
Our local guide will guide you on a walk through the village. We continue to reach the Tangkup Waterfall, passing rice fields, coffee plantations and crossing a bamboo bridge. The dramatic waterfall is about 25 metres high, flanked by towering cliffs, creating a scenic and exotic experience.

Eco Cycling Adventure
Today we visit the Agro Luwak Coffee Plantation and Suter village, from where we begin a cycle ride to see the beautiful Mount Batur volcano and Crater Lake. Ride through the pine forest, stoping at Kemukus Village to see craft blacksmith, Penaga Landih and visiting Tinggas Village to see the process of handmade “Dulang” for offerings.
We also visit Manik Aji Village, Peninjoan and Tabunan Sekaan Undisan Kaja passing through behind De Umah Bali, a traditional complex of Balinese house. The cycling finishes at Undisan village and enjoys your lunch at Padi Restaurant with rice field view.

Tirta Gangga and Village Trekking
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning trek to Pura Lempuyang, literally translated as the ‘highest lantern’, is one of the most important and sacred temples in Bali. The entrance resembles the gateway to heaven, opening with panoramic views as wide as from the summits of nearby Mount Agung and all the way down to the beautiful tranquil bays on the east coast of Bali.
Continue for two and a half hours on an uphill hike on a trail hidden in grasslands and Pandan forests. Get rewarded by breathtaking views while enjoying tea or coffee and Balinese snacks served 1,058 metres above sea level. Receive a blessing from a Balinese Hindu priest.
From the bottom of Belibis Mountain continue on a short drive to a beautifully situated restaurant for a refuelling Megibung lunch, served in the style of the Royal family of Karangasem.
Proceed to Tenganan village, the village is home to the Bali Aga people, Bali’s first inhabitants, here before the arrival of the Majapahit dynasty people who came from Java. You’ll see the village’s unique architecture as well as observe the weaving of the ikat pattern and traditional basket weaving.
Return to the hotel in Candidasa where the remainder of today is at leisure.
