This morning we travel by road through beautiful mountainous scenery to La Pavona river dock. Exploring Tortuguero on land and by boat

After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour through the trails. After lunch, take a boat tour off Tortuguero National Park, exploring the canals in small, open boats to allow a better visibility. Tortuguero is a network of navigable lakes, rivers and canals (both natural and man-made) that are used for transportation and are a great place for observing local wildlife such as birds, monkeys, two and three-toed sloths, American crocodiles, caimans, oriental Indian manatee, crocodiles, a large variety of crustaceous and about 30 species of sweet water fish, including the Gaspar, considered as a living fossil.

Boat ride on the Frío River

This morning enjoy a journey by boat on the Frío River, starting at Los Chiles, a little town located just 4 km from the Nicaraguan border. This river is part of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, a Ramsar site, where you will find one of the most diverse flora and fauna habitats in Costa Rica. Along the river it is possible to observe a great quantity of birds such as snake-birds, herons, cormorants and animals such as howlers, spiders or even white face monkeys, and three-toed sloth's. You can also see reptiles like caimans, Jesus Christ lizards and turtles. In the afternoon, you can opt for additional excursions including a zip line adventure in the forest canopy or a visit to hot springs or a coffee plantation.

Exploring Corcovado National Park

The Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park are covered by pristine primary lowland tropical rainforest and due to its remote location biodiversity and endemic wildlife thrive. During your stay, you can opt for daily guided hikes into the rainforest discovering the incredible species such a tapir, crocodile, caiman, jaguar, ocelot, margay and puma. It is also the only place in Costa Rica which is home to all four species of monkeys: howler monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys and squirrel monkeys.
