Valladolid Days 1 - 3

Itinerary Description

Day 1 - Cancun

Departure on a direct, daytime flight to Cancun. On arrival, your body clock will feel like late at night. You will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel for a good night sleep and be fresh for the next day.

Day 2 - Travel to Valladolid

Transfer to the colonial city Valladolid for a 2 night stay.

Day 3 - Explore Valladolid

Enjoy a day to explore the Spanish colonial architecture, parks and squares. Perhaps take a cooling swim in the city's centrally located cenote (a fresh water filled sink hole ideally for swimming), visit the San Roque Museum and learn about the city's troubled past or the equally fascinating folk art Museum.

Merida Days 4 - 6

Day 4 - Travel to Merida

Days 5-6 - Optional excursions in Merida

Day 4 - Travel to Merida

Transfer to colonial city of Merida and your chosen hotel for a 3 night stay. Rest of the day at leisure. 

Days 5-6 - Optional excursions in Merida

We spend two full days of optional excursions to explore Merida. Perhaps take a guided tour of the city, visit the Monastery at Izamal or the "Human sacrifice cenote" of Diztnup. 

Uxmal and Campeche Days 7 - 8

Day 7 - Visit Uxmal 

Transfer to Campeche where we stay for 2 nights. En route, we visit Hacienda Temozon and explore the Puuc archeological site of Uxmal, where the walls have intricate decorations, and the nearby, partially excavated site of Kabah.

Day 8 - At leisure in Campeche

A day at leisure to enjoy the delights of this most interesting coastal city. A visit to the old walled town with its restored colonial buildings and cobbled streets - a UNESCO World Heritage site - it a must. Venture further afield and you will find a genuine Mexican provincial feel with local bars and restaurants to enjoy. 

Chichen Itza Day 9

Day 9 - Chichen Itza

Itinerary Description

Day 9 - Chichen Itza

Transfer to Chichén Itzá, where we visit the extensive archaeological site with impressive, austere pyramids, the temple and observatory. There is a "son et lumiere" show in the evening. Overnight at a hotel nearby.

Playa del Carmen Days 10-16

Day 15 - Return home

Day 10-14 - Playa del Carmen beach resort

Explore Chichén Itzá further in the early morning light, before the crowds of tourists arrive. Rest by the hotel pool in the midday heat and early in the afternoon we transfer to the coast staying for 5 nights at your chosen hotel in Playa del Carmen.

Day 15 - Return home

Transfer to Cancún airport for your overnight flight to the UK.

Fairmont Mayakoba

Playa del Carmen - Deluxe Resort

Tucked under a forest canopy and designed around crystal clear waterways, with the sense of a Mexican home, the Fairmont Mayakoba Resort located with 240 acres of tropical forest. The grounds and gardens are quite special, with golf carts to get around the site and trails to explore. The 401 beautifully appointed bedrooms and 34 beach and lagoon casitas have one king or two queen beds, spacious bathrooms with a soaker tub and separate shower, some with private terrace or well sized balcony, air conditioning, Bose wave radio, CD player and 32"LCD TV.

Guests spend their days horseback riding on the beach, enjoying a round at Mayakoba's own golf course or their private spa. There are 3 Restaurants, bars and a cafe.

Playa del Carmen is located only 10 minutes away. The town is a great place to spend an evenings with a good choice of shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. 

Le Reve

Playa del Carmen - First Boutique

Hotel Le Reve is a charming boutique hotel located on the secluded area of Xcalacoco, 7 km north of Playa del Carmen. With a magnificent white sand beach and stunning turquoise blue waters, this is the perfect scene for a romantic retreat. Le Reve has a contemporary minimal style which is reflected in the white decor and furnishings of the guest rooms and the uncluttered but striking public areas.

There are in total 25 chic rooms & suites. The Horizon suite has a queen size bed, spacious bathroom and partial ocean view from its own terrace. The Beach Front Bungalow features one king size bed, private terrace, own plunge pool and spectacular Caribbean Sea beach front.

The hotel has a lovely swimming pool area right by the edge of the beach. There is also a beach bar serving tropical drinks and cocktails. The restaurant and bar have a wonderful evening ambiance. Other facilities include a small spa and fitness room.

Mahekal Beach Resort

Playa del Carmen - First Resort

Nestled between lush tropical gardens, a pristine white sand beach and the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea, Mahékal is one of the most picturesque Hotels in Playa del Carmen. The 121 rooms are divided into three sections, each with a different atmosphere - Caribe Ocean, Caribbean Garden view, and Aventura Ocean. All rooms have private facilities, a patio or balcony with hammocks and air conditioned. Some rooms have their own plunge pool or outdoor shower. In keeping with a relaxed environment, there are no televisions, radios or telephones in the rooms.

The hotel's facilities include two pools and jacuzzi, two restaurants and bar. Watersports such as scuba diving or windsurfing can be arranged at the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located to the shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue, or La Quinta as it is known locally and only 50 minutes from Cancun Airport.

The resort offers breakfast and dinner or lunch under a Modified Plan. Alcohol and some beverages are additional.
