Since 1999, PeruRail has run train services from Cusco to Lake Titicaca (Puno) and visa versa. They also operate the Andean Explorer train from Cusco to Puno and onto Arequipa for luxury operator Belmond.

Crossing the Andes on the Cusco-Puno route aboard the PeruRail Titicaca Train is a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure and one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Trains to and from Machu Picchu

There are 4 ways to travel by train to Machu Picchu with PeruRail each offering different levels of comfort and inclusions as you travel through the breathtaking landscapes of the Sacred Valley. The journey time from Cusco Wanchaq station to Aguas Calientes is between 4 and 5 hours. 

PeruRail Expedition train - the cheapest option with regular departures from Cusco every day. Enjoy comfortable seats with tables.
